THis doesn't really count as a Hall Of Shame auction, but it is entertaining anyway. Any Idea what eBay law this guy might have broken?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 01469&rd=1

I'll start a post under "Everything Else" for further discussion

I don't get this auction at all. Judging by the description and the picture would you pay more then $15 for this junk? :? What am I missing? Bad feedback, no details, books from 80's (suerly mostly 90's) and 2000 for $1,000?

Maybe the buyer is local (for "free" shipping) and he's hoping to sell
the books as "bargains" for $0.25 or $0.50 each at shows, malls, etc.

It looks to me like ZephyrWasHot finally got fed up with ebay and is getting his revenge!!! 8-) Just kidding there, Zeph. Still, it did remind me of you. :thumb:

I'll let ZHW handle what's all wrong with this auction. He can explain it better then I. :P

That is a great Nm book. If NM means spine creases & cover folds.

I find this return policy very generous as well.

I'm surprised nobody else saw the York Peppermint Patty sitting right next to this comic. Move it that way another inch and it will actually be "over-mint."

Actually, 15 cents (or thereabouts) a book is not *bad*...it's just not GOOD.

The buyer, Kyle939, lives in Oceanside CA, so no 'local' pickup.

I love the 'worth $30,000 to $50,000 easy'. Yes, and my Rom #47's are worth $1 million each, easy.

I also love the '$100 holding fee' for local pickup. What is that for? Nothing but lining pockets. The seller would have had to store them ANYWAYS, for whatever length of time it took to ship, and they can get picked up for FARRRRRRRRRRR less effort by the seller.

What is WRONG with these people??

Not *REALLY* bad, but not Near Mint. Anyone see why?

There's even restoration on this book. ;)

BEAUTIFUL scans, though. ALL books should look like this.

I see a cut in the "O" in Lois.
Some spine stress.
A mark of some kind on the back.

I can't tell any restoration in the scan. I see some color variation but that can be from the scan itself.

Hole in the "O," possible subscription crease to FC, upper staple area looks suspicious on back cover. Where is the restoration?

Sadly, Kenny Kid Hop Hop is just a broken-down drunk. No more hops, no longer a kid. Was arrested twice last year for urinating in public, and was accused of shoplifting although the charges were dropped.

As for Walter Wang, he's been selling those KFC books for a while. He sells a lot of Valiant stuff, and is a great guy to buy from.

Hop Hop was the animal side-kick of Kenny no-longer-a-Kid.

After years of mental anguish and sexual deviancy at the hands of an alchololic Kenny, Hop left him for good in 2000 to found a cult based on the teaching of ZWH called "Heaven's Doghouse." They mutilate their genetalia while waiting for the foretold rebirth of the Valiant Universe.

Could it be possible? Could we have dragged Auction Hall of Shame into Topic Oblivion?
