Agreed, many thanks for sharing. Super interesting book. Looks legit and with the defects I thought I saw in the picture. Great book!

The fact you have the Davis art but can’t find the book reminds when Christopher was looking for that Bloodshot variant for eons, and found the original Cully Hamner cover art for sale. Sometimes the art is easier to find than the book!
Yeah, it’s so weird. There is one person that has one on eBay. I’d like to pick it up, but he wants more than I’m want to pay. I’ll probably post this one on eBay for $15K even if it comes back as a 6.0. That way when my girlfriend asks when I’m going to sell some of these again, I’ll just show her and say, I’m trying but no one is buying... just like the Ducati baby! I know that 2006 Sport Classic is worth $100K, we just haven’t found the right buyer yet! So when you guys see it for $15K on eBay, don’t criticize. There’s a plan afoot!

I put up pics up of the copy I have, looks to be the same as yours. I don't know if the seller mentioned it, and you can ask to confirm, but he said he picked up this copy in the Philippines back in the day and kept it ever since. I can confirm that my copy was purchased from a comic shop in Singapore 'back in the day' and I bought from a seller still living there. So the origins of these error books make them a bit more exotic and interesting. Who knows if any more of these can be found in North America, but someone needs to scour the Asian comic shop scene to see if anymore can be flushed out!

I know a dealer in Berkeley who sells boxes of cheap comics to the Philippines. He once sold hundreds of boxes of Valiant books there.
Was that like 10ish years ago. It used to be you couldn’t go into a shop in Manila without seeing tons of valiant. I bought a bunch of Unity I didn’t need one time because at 10 peso a book why not?!?

I don’t get down to the Philippines much any more but I can say HK, Singapore and Tokyo have very little for Valiant back issues - either VH1 or VEI. I have scoured them all. I did buy my Eternal Warrior 5 CGC 9.8 Mack cover from someone who works across the street from me (it was a Board sale)

Probably! He said he has been selling boxes of cheap comics to the Philippines for ages. He had to move warehouses so he sold a huge batch I’m guessing 5 years ago or so. I bought a stack of EE 4s that ended up garnering 40 or so 9.8 copies. I paid maybe $2 for the lot. That funded a good chunk of my grading fees for my Valiant collection.

Mine is pretty sharp. The chromium cover very slight curls up at the corners when lying flat but no other 'defects' otherwise.

Well, I haven’t gotten a grade yet, but CGC has categorized it as “Qualified” A.K.A Green Label of Death...

I just posted pics on eBay. They gave me the Valiant label, not the green label of death! It also came back as a 9.0.

My GF wants me to sell some of my collection so I posted it on eBay for $50K. I do NOT want to let it go, but if I have to, $50,000 will buy a sufficient supply or Pappy Van Winkle... (Or Winston Supreme Canadian Whiskey and pour some out for Bob Layton!)
