Oh, Pixie? You have an endoskeleton. Ants have exoskeletons. And maybe Bugsy.
Wait. Are you saying ants maybe have Bugsy? :o

Great issue all around. Loved all of the future teases, and hopefully they're all set in stone and not just a possible outcome. I recently watched the third season of the TV show Damages. In the first episode or two, they showed that a flashforward with a major character dead in a dumpster. This character was my favorite and had me in anticipation of who/how/where he would die. Just because you know an outcome doesn't take away from it being intriguing.

Not to be a pessimist, but what if Faith is the love of his life, but he's not the love of hers...because she's with Pete.

You're all assuming that Ivar is referring to the Renegades' "Faith," when it could easily be someone else, including someone that adopts "Faith" as a codename. Potentially that could be Mary Maria.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Well, if it turns out that the Faraway is the Hypersphere (and I'm fairly certain that's what FVL is saying) and it is of human construction, then there is the possibility that there are other, different Hyperspheres which could come into play in future issues.

Maybe there's a lot of them, all networked together or something. There did seem to be many portals leading into the thing.

A better question is where and when (in timespace) this construct exists. It seems to be the nexus of all times.

Archer and Armstrong #12 was a really good issue. I definitely did not see the ending coming. I'm looking forward to what happens next between Mary Maria and Aram. Love triangle, maybe? I wouldn't be surprised.

This is a plot point that I think FVL needs to clear up for us at some point

Sometimes Mary-Maria acts like herself, sometimes she acts like her Parents would act

My guess is that she doesn't realize that her parents are influencing her

I think its her with influence from her parents that causes the "boner" for Armstrong

Hi, everybody!

I've already read issues #0-12 of the Archer and Armstrong relaunch. Still, there are a few things I'm confused about that maybe some of you can clear up for me. What is the faraway? Is it on Earth? Or is it in another dimension? What exactly is the Boon? What is it's purpose? Who created it and why? Perhaps these questions haven't been answered yet in the series, but thanks anyway in advance for any responses you can contribute.

Cheers! :D

Uncle Yusuf,
I don't think those questions have been definitively answered. The Faraway is kind of like the Lost Land from the original comics, and the Boon is some sort of device that when activated kills most of the people around it and makes a few others immortal. Inexplicably.

That's the best I can do.

The Faraway is an artificial sphere in which the Word of Obadiah Archer is kept and connects to all times (and realities?). Where it is exactly is unclear, but it may be in the time stream somewhere, or in another dimension.

Everything else is still a mystery. I am starting to think the Boon was actually a weapon from the future and was taken to the Faraway, much like Ivar, to keep it from destroying the Word (aka being used to change the world). But the Archies (that's what I'm calling them, deal with it VEI) believe in non-interference, so they didn't stop the Anni-Padda Brothers from taking it.

All the theories and chatter here have me thinking that Ivar could serve a Solar like role in the VEI universe. I know XO has been mentioned as serving this role but it seems like Ivar could as well, especially when it comes to connecting various time periods.

It seem like there is no question that at some point we'll see a future timeline as well. Sentient cities - :cloud9:

Really hoping now that he's been freed that Ivar takes on the look David Aja designed for him.

Hmmm .. Never seen his Ivar design

Just did a search and found it

Pretty cool look ... You won't confuse him with Aric with that look

Another great issue! FVL has done a great job putting together a great collection of characters in this book! This is either my favorite series or second to Harbinger. My only gripe is a little too much interconnectedness. Sometimes it feels like things are being forced together to me. It was good to see Ivar back though and I'm interested to see more of him. Preferably fully clothed though.
