Who will they introduce? Phil, Rai, Pierce? Who will they kill off?
Just a guess - this time around Kris is preggers with Bloodshot's baby - baby Rai!

He animated dead flesh, Valiant has been teasing that we might have already seen Rai and I'm sure there going to make good on the "Rai spring 2013" promo.
It's happening we just don't know it yet, just like Bloodshot #1 started Harbinger Wars.

glad someone posted the WORD.
Awsomeness! if that even is a word.

I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

I just hope that they aren't just using the word Unity, but try to make it actually apply to the spirit of the original (and in some ways the lesser cool "sequel"). A Unity without mothergod seems pointless to me. I suspect that if this spins out of Planet Death, then it's going to be Vine related.
I do like the idea that Unity could be a way of bringing back the GK3 into rotation, but I don't expect that to be the case.

Even if they can't bring back the Gold Key characters. What would be really nice if they could at least work out a deal to allow those characters to be reprinted in a UNITY hardcover collecting the original mini series. Would tie in nice to their new UNITY event.

I second that! Since they already reprint the tie in issues (A&A, EW) that show Solar and Magnus, I sure hope they can reprint the whole saga.

My understanding is that they are allowed to reprint any material that has already been printed, but they can't use the GK3 in promotions or new material. If I had to guess, I would say to expect a Unity HC around the time of the new crossover.the1captain wrote:Even if they can't bring back the Gold Key characters. I hope they won't let the old Unity story bog them down. Let them do their own interpretation of Unity using the Faraway, the Boon, etc.etos45 wrote:I just hope that they aren't just using the word Unity, but try to make it actually apply to the spirit of the original (and in some ways the lesser cool "sequel"). Good point. Lots coming down the line from Valiant. Been looking at trimming what I get from other companies so I can afford more Valiant.etos45 wrote:My understanding is that they are allowed to reprint any material that has already been printed, but they can't use the GK3 in promotions or new material. So how long do we think Bloodshot is going to be called "Bloodshot HARDCorps"? My guess is a little over 1 year... or at least until VEI is confident enough to give the hard corps their own book

I would say no, because it's not in their best interest to promote a character they don't own. Not to mention, how would you advertise it if you can't include the main character in the ad?AnthonyF wrote:Does that mean they can also reprint the BWS Layton Solar run?etos45 wrote: My understanding is that they are allowed to reprint any material that has already been printed, but they can't use the GK3 in promotions or new material. In the C2E2 Panel, Dino just said that the gold key characters are comming back but not by Valiant so that shows we will not see the big 3 in VEI books anytime soon.
As far as reprinting, that is a touchy subject. I think VEI will not release HCs of the old unless/until they own or license the characters once again. That said Dinesh is always adiment he loves those properties and we may see them back in the fold someday so that's cool to know that the interest is there.

Re: Spoiler from Bleedingcool ** WARNING - FCBD SPOILER IN
Well, Harbinger Wars has made a really good first impression, so so far I trust Valiant to do something cool with the upcoming Unity.
I only read the Shadowman issues of the original Unity saga, so I vaguely know about it, which is why I'll probably only be able to get a bit more excited about it closer the time, when we know a bit more about it.
I don't know much about the original Unity, but I think it'd probably be a mistake for Valiant to try and sort of reprint that story using current characters, and most definitely a wasted opportunity to do something new and interesting with a story that can possibly carry the spirit of the old saga well, whilst doing something new.
Valiant have done a great job so far resurrecting old characters and keeping true to the spirit of the old titles whilst doing something new and interesting, in my opinion, so I think that if they keep this up, they could do something with the upcoming Unity that will be really interesting and new and still please everybody. Naturally, taking into account the new Valiant fanbase, they'll *have* to make sure the story doesn't relate too closely to the original Unity at the risk of alienating the new readers.
As for this "who will lead the H.A.R.D Corps", I just don't get it.
We'll hopefully find something out about the new H.A.R.D Corps in the Harbinger Wars miniseries as for who they're working for, but I already think that they're aligned to one of the major factions already established in the universe, i.e. the 1%, Harada, PRS etc. On this assumption, because that's all it is at the moment, why does it make sense that one of the current main characters would lead them?
On the other hand, assumptions aside, I really don't see how it makes sense for any of the current lead characters to lead the H.A.R.D Corps when they already have their own thing to be getting on with in their own series
Personally I just don't *like* the idea honestly. I'd much rather the H.A.R.D Corps be independant to any of the other books, until crossover events happen specifically.
I'd love some feedback on my thoughts, so regardless of whether you agree or disagree, please do let me know what your opinions on my views are.

By the way, did anyone notice that's a *female* member of the Hard Corps on the right there? No-one's mentioned it yet

Oh no, I've just read the other post with the other spoiler page in it and seen the 'Bloodshot Hard Corps' announcement.
I'm really enjoying Bloodshot, I hope it doesn't all go *SQUEE* up now.
On the other hand, I was probably going to end up buying Bloodshot and Hard Corps separately, so maybe it's just as well and might be really cool
Sorry folks, I'm a real mix of feelings at the moment having read these new announcements, bear with me.
[Can't believe I'm this influenced by comics, I didn't even know I was as into Valiant as I am, it happened without me noticing!

Solar doesn't appear in costume on the BWS cover to issue #1, and VALIANT promoted it. I was thinking more the effect that since VEI owns both Erica Pierce and Phil Seleski - and Phil doesn't appear as Solar during the entire BWS (backup story) run - they could reprint that storyline and tie those characters into VEI. If the new company with the gold key license doesn't have reprint rights, they are in effect creating a new character.MoonChild wrote:In the C2E2 Panel, Dino just said that the gold key characters are comming back but not by Valiant so that shows we will not see the big 3 in VEI books anytime soon.As far as reprinting, that is a touchy subject. Re: Spoiler from Bleedingcool ** WARNING - FCBD SPOILER IN
The images from A&A 0 look a lot like they are in the Lost Land. And could this be what Dysart is working on as an exclusive writer? Although, I think they are going to do something completely different. Wasn't there mention at the C2E2 panel of the earth being surrounding by debris from the vine fleet? I think XO unites all the heroes for an "Adopt a Highway" like adventure and the Valiant heroes clean up earth's orbit. It would be the first Valiant PSA comic like the ones they used to hand out in school ala "Spider-man, Storm and Power Man Battle Smokescreen". (I've got a ton of those books at my parents house, if anyone is interesed
)
