I'm guessing that Havok will quit X-Factor then?

Re: Marvel Now
Marvel Now is a great jumping off point. My Marvel pull list is going to be about a quarter of what it was.
I am picking up three number ones - Deadpool, FF and Fantastic Four. The wife wants to keep reading FF and Fantastic Four because they are two titles that she reads and enjoys. I am picking up Deadpool because I want to see where Brian Posehn goes with him.

Re: Marvel Now
X-Men reader here, so you can guess I'm pretty p***** off by the whole NOW! thingy.
I'll still be picking "Wolverine & The X-Men", at least until November. It'll be the only Marvel book in my pull, since "Uncanny X-Men" and "Uncanny X-Force" will both fold. I'm curious about the Posehn "Deadpool"- but it's just that, curiosity.
The "All New X-Men" concept strikes me as one of the most lazy, idiotic things to come out of Marvel. And "Uncanny Avengers"? It'll be a cold day in hell before I pay 7.98 per month for a book that stars the Scarlet Witch and Havok, even if Remender is writing it and Cassaday is drawing it. I simply have no interest whatsoever in a joint Mutant-Avenger force team, not to mention one that features 2 of the most boring Marvel characters ever. My opinion, of course.
I'll still have Valiant and my Bat-books, anyway.

Axel Alonso confirmed it in his last talk with CBR. But it was a non-spoken truth for a while, pretty much since the NOW! announcement that highlighted "All New X-Men" as the new flagship of the franchise and how it would replace Uncanny in the same manner that New Avengers Vol. 1 replaced the main Avengers book.
It will be back in a couple of years for sure, but Kieron Gillen's run was really good and way too short. That's what really pains me.

Re: Marvel Now
The biggest shame of all this is that some of my favourite artists are stuck working on this crap.
I *adore* Cassaday's work [Planetary, anyone?], and Leinil Yu on the Hulk is an exciting prospect. Adi Granov is also amazing [I love that Uncanny Avengers #1 pic of Scarlet Witch even though I do not ever read Avengers]... and poor Esad is trapped doing THOR? Valiant needs to get an exclusive with this guy! With all these guys!!
I'm officially just going to be a fan of Marvel THEN! - I refuse to get into anything with the NOW! stamp on it. Chris Farley sums up my feelings best on what Marvel is doing;

That Bloodshot #3 cover is mind-blowing.

It could have been a good cover, but I really just can not understand the angle / perspective. Shouldn't they all be looking to the right?

Re: Marvel Now
I went to a convention where Cassaday was the featured guest and there was promotion for him everywhere. I wanted to dislike the guy because they were making such a big deal out of him but I saw him at a couple of panels and he was too funny and charming for me to dislike.grendeljd wrote:The biggest shame of all this is that some of my favourite artists are stuck working on this crap.

No more Uncanny X-Force

I really have to revise my "Marvel Pull-List" and drop all the crap.

Re: Marvel Now
Rumours have it as Daniel Way and Ale Garza will be relaunching "a special blacl-ops mutant team" book, i.e. X-Force. Since KINDA SPOILERS FOR UXF everyone is dying or leavingmaraxusofkeld wrote:Are they relaunching Uncanny X-Force as well?? I certainly hope not, only mutant book that I currently enjoy.

My roster prediction/wish list:
- Logan
- Deadpool
- AoA Nightcrawler
- Danger (EVA was cooler as part of Fantomex. I'm not digging her that much as of now.
- Rachel Summers (she's pure bad-assery)
- Warpath or Wolvesbane
- Cable
I will try the 1st issue, for curiositY, knowing in advance that it will be completely different from UXF.
And Uncanny X-Men?! These 3 books were part of one the best times in decades for the Marvel muties.erwinrafael wrote:You don't like Wolverine and the X-Men?

For the first two or three months sure, but once the newness wears off they will go back down again, (just like DC's The New 52), but in the long term I think it's very questionable that canceling, starting, and restarting books as an excuse for all the switching creative teams around is a good move.StarBrand wrote:A lot of fans will use Marvel Now as a jumping off point, but sales on the titles will be way up.

I thought that comic book sales in general had a big push from the new 52. The most difficult part is now, when one has to resist the temptation of lots of new#1s with pretty covers.
