Re: Bloodshot annouced
They said in one of the links that dino posted that they were going to announce the last two titles this week. Whether or not it's tomorrow, I don't know, but it should be here by Friday.Crow331 wrote:"The summer of Valiant is coming. Four titles. Four months."
One of the previous announcements said there would be an announcement a day for 4 days. Of course the 4th announcement could be the Bloodshot movie (not officially announced) I suppose and not another title. I got the impression it would be another title though.
To your original post, the only hint on tumblr for A&A was this:

Which isn't as much as the Shadowman for sure, but Rai was hinted at with more complete art than Shadowman, so....

I am looking forward to the final announcement, since it's the only title that was obvious to begin with (with FCBD already pretty much announcing the other three).

@ValiantComics Can we expect one more bit of title news tomorrow? 4 titles. 4 months?

Finally a definitive answer on the last title.

Wonderful. Very happy to hear Bloodshot is returning. There is little doubt he will still be an Italian-American mobster turned good on accident by evil Japanese corporate technology, right?

I haven't read any threads nore articles, but is it mentioned who did this Bloodshot? Who is writing / drawing the comic?
I don't really like Bloodshot, but that is a beautiful image. The best they've released so far!!

Re: Bloodshot announced
I believe Valiant announced Bloodshot without announcing the creative team.
I do believe Doug Braithwaite was mentioned a cover artist though.

Wasn't Angelo Mortali actually a Cover Identity that the nanites thought was Bloodshot's real identity, because his brain was so damaged (When he died), when the nanites repaired it, they couldn't tell the difference?

There may have been something like that in VH2, but in VH1, he was Angelo Mortalli, through and through.MarrowMan wrote:Wasn't Angelo Mortali actually a Cover Identity that the nanites thought was Bloodshot's real identity, because his brain was so damaged (When he died), when the nanites repaired it, they couldn't tell the difference?

Bloodshot announced
If you're accepting my theory that the cover nods to Bloodshot 40 and hints at Bloodshot 44, then let me throw one more reference on the pile, Superman 75 bleeding symbol from the black bagged comic. Superman 75 arrived in stores the same day as... I think y'all are over thinking it!
And if Shadowman is the next title, and Bob Hall is not involved, I'll be a nervous wreck! And if there is any Acclaim influence, I'll be quite disappointed.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
Re: Bloodshot announced
When it was originally announced that Valiant would finally have a new line of comics, I didn't really care. I figured without Shooter at the helm, it probably wouldn't be worth checking out.
As far as the old Valiant titles were concerned, I mainly liked the titles which had Shooter involved. Once he left the company, it seems like the entire line went downhill (The only title I truly like, post-Shooter, is X-O).
And I loved the "Dark Key" line. Granted, the first two issues or so of Solar were disappointing, but that second story-arc was excellent. I felt Magnus & Samson had somewhat weak first issues, but were pretty good from issues 2-4. Turok, I liked the first 2 issues, but the final 2 issues were horrible as they felt rushed and had poor artwork from a fill-in.
With the creative team line-ups for Harbinger & X-O, I'm going to try them out for at least 2-3 issues each. I'm not sure on the writers, but the artwork in the sneak previews looks good, and I keep seeing positive comments about the writers of each title.
I'm not sure on whether I'd try Bloodshot out or not, but if it has an interesting creative team, I'll probably try it out, as well.

As much as I loved Bob Hall's run, I'm not certain his style would fit the style we've seen so far from VEI. His stuff as inked by Tom Ryder definitely would not fit. However, his style in issue #43 where he pencilled and inked could potentially fit with the style we've seen so far if a good colorist is on it.
I doubt we will see that though.

You can forget Bob. I talked to him a while back when the rumors of Valiant's return were flying and he said he had heard nothing from them. I even got him some contact info and he said he wrote them and maybe even called and he said he didn't even get a courtesy response. C'est la vie. New Valiant is obviously heading in a new direction. Maybe they can get Bob to do a pin-up or something for a future issue or maybe be a fill-in guy, but for now he is OUT ... sad to say.

he drew the cover and back-up story for the Harbinger HC right? So he obviously knows VEI.Crow331 wrote:You can forget Bob. It really seems like they're going with new, 'modern' creators. I really like how everything looks so far, and I think using relevant creators will gain a lot more new readers from the general comic crowd. Too many former creators would feel like a re-tread. I can't wait to see a new take on Shadowman, and I LOVE Bob Hall.
