This is great news. It might even get me back into a LCS after a five-year hiatus. Maybe I could sell some plasma. :hm:

Thanks for the questions!

Post by JCVaughn »

Thanks for the questions, guys. We really appreciate the contributions and I personally share your enthusiasm for Jim's era of Valiant.

Pending Jim's schedule, we'll have this in Scoop on Friday.

You can sign up to get the Scoop email at http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/signup/default.asp

Or you can just visit us on the site at
http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com

Scoop is updated weekdays and the email generally goes out Fridays.

As we get closer the comics actually coming out and if you're so inclined, we can do this again once we have more details on which to base further questions.

I liked all of the questions and loved some of them, even the silly ones.

These two won't make it in, but I can answer one of them:

Brother J wrote:"Since you're from the Pittsburgh area, are you a fan of any of the area sports teams? Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, etc."

"How did you feel about Pittsburgh being blown up and Ken Connell being turned into a whacko in Star Brand after you left Marvel?"

Joe P., Douglassville, PA
Joe, Jim's from Bethel Park and I'm from Mt. Lebanon, and we're both huge fans (he's huger, naturally) of Pittsburgh sports teams. While I don't think the World Series trophy will be joining the Lombardy Trophy and the Stanley Cup this year ("On Ice or Grass we'll kick your *SQUEE*!" was my favorite recent T-Shirt). Neither of us have lived there for years, but both of us still bleed black and gold.

As for the other question, that's one I'll save for a book. :thumb:

Thanks, again, everyone!

I really wanted to keep this piece about the new work. Jim and I have (really) slowly been working on a detailed interview since the end of last year. It's a career-spanning thing, so that's more likely a place for such questions to come up!

A small portion of it can be read in BACK ISSUE #34 - "Jim Shooter's First Day at Marvel Comics" -- in an otherwise packed issue. Always one of my favorite magazines, to boot!

UPDATE - 20 QUestions

Post by JCVaughn »

Just wanted to let you know. Jim has answered the questions and they're off to Dark Horse to make sure we have everything straight. My plan is still to post them for this Friday's Scoop.

As things develop or don't schedule-wise, I'll post here.

Nope. :?

ALL of them were enjoyable, but there was a good bit of overlap -- not surprising, we all had very little detail to work on and we all want to know a lot of the same things! :P

Other than our Scoop questions, I tried to stick the the format Greg posted about at the top of the post -- Real names (so the questions I used get credit), etc.

The great thing about this is, at least in my opinion, Jim is definitely open to doing this again as we get closer and he's able to share more specifics.
