I like Shadowman, it's a very cool concept and Jack was a great character. I like it so much that I hope that VEI respects it and lets him die in 99 as he was meant to and not forcebly keep the story going 10 years after it was meant to end.robb77 wrote:so what do you think about shadowman. since there is a project unity 6,7,8 will this be a comtinuity of the valiant universe
Which project do you mean? The Unity 2000 stuff that Fanboy is working on?

Yeah. He intended the series to end with the character's death.robb77 wrote:this is appernatly what shootyer had in mindManofTheAtom wrote:I like Shadowman, it's a very cool concept and Jack was a great character. The Acclaim continuity comics can be comic books within the VALIANT Universe that fill out quarter bin boxes and parrot cages

You?

They should all end the way they did. Retcons don't work, they are band-aids, short term fixes.robb77 wrote:ok so magnus ends the way it does??ManofTheAtom wrote:robb77 wrote:so which continuitys do you think should comtinue?![]()

It's been proven that retcons lead to a slippery slope. Once you start retconning you never stop. Just look at DC and Marvel.
VEI MUST be different. They should serve the stories and characters, not the reader's desires.
It's like PAD and Priest have said. The characters must come first.
Retconning the endings won't do any good.
Say that they were to retcon the endings, but it turns out that the "replacement" stories aren't better, they're worse, so they retcon again... but then the second retconning is even worse than the first, so they have to retcon again... before you know it, the characters are falling down the the slippery slope and the readers grow increasingly more frustrated with the publisher.

That's an interesting question.robb77 wrote:so what shooter had imagined if he was to extend to the val universe what woulds happen
Would Shooter had kept the line at eight titles or expand it to include other concepts?
We know for a fact that Fatale, the comic published by Broadway, originated as a VALIANT concept.
Shooter liked to establish his characters in other titles before giving them a series, so from which concept would Fatale have been spun off from? Shadowman seems like a good guess given that Fatale was a supernatural concept.
Is it possible that there are other concepts from Defiant, Broadway, or even Daring that began as ideas for VALIANT?
I for one would like to see VEI acquire these properties and integrate them into the VALIANT Universe. Star Seed and Fatale were great, awesome, comics.

If it were to pick up from where it ended, with Bloodshot being blown up?robb77 wrote:tough question hoe how would bloodshot continue
Well, I have my ideas.
It be possible that the nanites in Bloodshot's blood kept his brain alive but were unable to regenerate his body since they lacked the nutrients and other material they needed, then in 2008-9 someone could find the body and take it back to the States to harvest the nanites to create their own Bloodshot 2.0 to fight in the Corporate Wars. Could be that the process would reawaken Bloodshot, then the nanites that Proteus infected him could regenerate his body by absorbing the people in the facility where he's being kept.
We could then see a cool Classic Bloodshot vs Bloodshot 2.0 brawl.

Well, the short stories are continuing the VALIANT Universe. They are the first true VALIANT stories in over a decade.robb77 wrote:i reeally wish they would continue the Valiant universe instead of the hc.and if so they sholdmcon the harbinger seriex=s
Also, the hcs serve to reintroduce the characters to a new audience and lay the foundation for what is to come without having to reboot the whole thing.

Yeah, but he didn't get it directly from Bloodshot.robb77 wrote:just the last rai has the blood of bloodshot
The last Rai (Obadiah, not Takao) got the blood after Ax stole it from Bloodshot in 2028. In order for Ax to do that Bloodshot has to survive the explosion in issue 51.

He dies for good in 2028 when Ax drains the blood from him.robb77 wrote:so bloodshot is essentialy dead
After issue 51, it could be that he sort of died but the nanites have kept his brain alive until now, when someone rescues his corpse and takes him somewhere where the nanites can restore his body.

They do have an effect. They give those that have them certain abilities, like healing, heightened reflexes, stuff like that.robb77 wrote:so the nanites of bloodshot have no effect. so why werethey fighting for it
