I'm not a funny man, so that was my "once a month" gutbuster....ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Wizard started sucking a couple of months before #1 came out.Ben(inabox) wrote:When did Wizard start sucking so much? I quit reading it around 97 or so, and then just got a subscription around last year. Wow, it really sucks now! Remember when they used to have articles? And a semi-comprehensive price guide? Free stuff that came with it? Contests? More than 90 pages?
What happened?

That was pretty damn funny.

Fair comment, but i always found Wizard go their name for shamelessly plugginh anything that was already hot and so their job was hardly difficult.*SQUEE* wrote:If it was not for Wizards early Valiant coverge I may have never picked up a single Valiant issue. So to me they will always have that one thing going for them.
Also they were always so over the top they can take a good chunk of the blame for the way the industry crashed.
They kept up the lies and BS which everyone swallowed and laughed all the way to the bank.
Sure for a good amount of time they did produce worthwhile info & plenty articles of a semi/journalistic value etc but, they are scum sucking wankers and always will be.

If it wasn't for Wiztard, Harbinger #1 would never have been a $125 book....*SQUEE* wrote:If it was not for Wizards early Valiant coverge I may have never picked up a single Valiant issue. So to me they will always have that one thing going for them.

It wasn't with just Valiants; they hyped up every friggin hot book of the month. They are partly to blame for the 90s comic book debacle, or you could say they were part of the problem. Heck they still are a problem. But I digest...err digressZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:If it wasn't for Wiztard, Harbinger #1 would never have been a $125 book....*SQUEE* wrote:If it was not for Wizards early Valiant coverge I may have never picked up a single Valiant issue.
