Wow. That white cover looks very pretty in that slab.ckb wrote:I just wish I had bid $180 on this one instead of $80....tarheelmarine wrote:I agree, all's fair in bidding.Zero wrote:It was on my watch list as well from the day it was listed. It sold for less than guide, which hasn't happened often of late with the rarer VVSS books. Nothing was stopping anybody from bidding higher.

Nah - there is no hard feelings buddy - I just am *SQUEE* I didn't save $300 as I would have spent that much...just didn't have it
Congrats to the winner and I will try harder next time - I am glad that all of these went for a good cause - there is no way I could have hard feelings when a cause such as this is involved.

Well said. My apologies if I was coming across as ungracious. It was not intended in that way. As it is, I am pleased to be receiving a few of Trent's books, although of course I would prefer he still be around to enjoy them, I am sure that he would want his online family to enjoy them, particularly to the benefit of his real family.worldsbestcomics wrote: But when it is a book for charity or to support Trent's family then I don't consider market value particularly relevant if it is a book I want. I'd rather pay a bit more for a book with some good mojo attached to it and have the money go to a good cause than pay market price for a generic book.

You've got nothing to apologize for WBC. Just keep doing what you do.worldsbestcomics wrote:I forgot about this thread and just read it to find out that my bids on some eBay auctions have apparently generated some hard feelings.
I don't have a lot of money and I don't think I bid insane amounts of money on anything. This VVSS book was a generic book and when RQB asked me to lay off, I did it as a favor to another Valiant Board member. I was the first bidder so at the time, I didn't know anybody was going to bid.
I understand that there is always going to be some disappointment when you lose a book on an auction. Particularly if it is a book you really want. If anyone out there has any hard feelings toward me besides RQB, please shoot me a PM.
