What was your first Valiant comic?

Yeah a guy named Bernie ran Drangon's Lair, a friend of mine.tarheelmarine wrote:Dragon's Lair is still there, by far the best store in Fayetteville. The owner is even able to get top comics creators to the store. When I was a kid he was able to get Joe Quesada down there.
The place across Cross Creek moved back in 96-97 to where the dollar theatre was and eventually they shut down.
I remember getting Quesada down there in the early 90s, and that is where I got to know Quesada. He was a 'relative' nobody on X-Force and the Ray but his X-O Manowar signing went over pretty well... enough that we went out drinking.... I uh dont remember much else about that night. LOL

If you remember during that Joe Q signing, they raffled a Joe Q sketch made personal for whoever won. A highschool buddy of mine won that.
If I am ever in Fayetteville, I always try to drop in there and buy a book.

X-O #). It was bundled with some Green Arrows - 5 for a pound (think about $1.80). Okay thought I, give it a go. It was okay. I have since gone on to regret not buying VALIANT when they first appeared and I am buying as much as possible to enjoy the stories. Yes I know I haven't got to x-O 68 or the end of Magnus yet...
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

there's not much to enjoy at the end of X-O or Magnus...those stories were dogs....woofleonmallett wrote:X-O #). It was bundled with some Green Arrows - 5 for a pound (think about $1.80). Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

I'd probably have to guess Rai #0, only b/c I want to say Greg and I started collecting around the same time. His collection quickly became the stuff of legend, whereas mine has kept quiet over the years (well protected though).

Hey Pom!
It's weird that you would pop in today...
I just received my first copy of Spider-man vs. Wolverine in the mail TODAY,
and I remember that you had a copy that I was always envious of...

I've been collecting comics since the mid-80's (although I did buy some in the 70's, but not a 'collector') Always been a Spiderman fan. Always liked the charactors without complictaed backgrounds, NEVER liked 'teams' (except Fantastic Four).
Was a fan of 'Quantom Leap' so when Archer & Armstrong came out I was told I'd love that book (from my LCS owner). I picked up #1 A&A, then started putting the Valiant universe together, but NEVER picked up any Harbinger til around issue 15 (?)
My faves are - A&A, Eternal Warrior, Solar and Shadowman
But I collect them all now!

Whoa, I'd forgotten about the Super Mario comics (which I bought of the shelf at a local newsstand)
As for the VH-1 comics that would be Magnus #1 as well. Though at that time, the nearest comic specialty shop was 60 miles away. I somehow missed Magnus #2 but I was back on with #3 and stuck around to #16.
Since then I've picked up a nearly complete run of Valiants (excluding limited editions). I still haven't gotten around to reading almost anything past Unity.
