DC's latest Manhunter series #1-30 (minus #5). I wonder if #30 is the final issue or if it will get another reprieve.
I always liked Marvel Fanfare . . .

I am REALLY happy with my newest addition to my collection and that is The Human FLy 1-14. I remember wanting these as a kid and NEVER even seeing one.

Not only do I have that to enjoy but one of my 'comic quests' is to have back in my possession was Amazing Spider-Man #158 and Ghost Rider #16 entitlted "In the gripping tradition of Jaws. BLOOD IN THE WATER!". My wife picked up the ASM book for me last year for Chistmas and I picked up Ghost Rider just last week. These are the two comic books formost in my memory as being my first comics and it feels VERY good to own them again.

Another book that pegged my 'WOW meter' was a very beaten up copy of "The 'Nam" that was thrown in as a gift. oh WOW, it is a GREAT book from start to finish. I am not even going to fight this one, I dont know how many issues there are or their cost per but dammit THESE are going int0 my colllection as of 1020 hrs yesterday morning... it's official and I can't wait to get more.

The Human Fly, Ghost Rider #16 back in my collection and now The 'Nam ? Damn, it's been a good day.

Was Human Fly the dude with the rocket powered skateboard? Red and white costume? If so I think I had an issue (6?) as a kid. Fun stuff for a six or seven year old.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

I also picked up two issues of the original Star Wars movie (circa 1977) in Italian, made in Milano, Italy. These babies are in GREAT shape. I am going to auction them off for sure... unless some uber Star Wars fan wants to make me an offer or maybe some trading

You hadn't read any Nam before? I highly recommend the first 15 issues or so. I think the series went into the 90s, but I never read nearly that far.

I'd recommend getting the first 15 or so issues and reading them in order. #9 was one of my favs when I read the series as a youngin, but the books are best read in order to get to know the soldiers in the stories. In fact, my lcs had the first 10 issues cheap maybe 2 years back so I bought a set to re-read and I still enjoyed the stories greatly.

Can't go wrong with Mike Golden art either.

These books should be cheap. You should be able to get them on ebay for less than a buck a book (except for the late issues which I doubt are as good of a read).

The 'Nam lasted 84 issues. When originally conceived, it was supposed to be a 12 year mini series. The lead character(s) of the book were only supposed to be in the comic 12 issues as they would go home after a year's service as a month passed in the comic at the same rate as the real world. I'm pretty sure things changed as sales flagged later in the run, as they came up with ideas such as bringing in the Punisher to boost sales.

I have a complete run of the series, which is pretty tough to put together as the late issues indeed did have low print runs.

And - Swamp Thing 34-58. $33.

Just started reading these while I was on holidays a few weeks ago and I didn't realise how much Moore's run was an influence on Sandman. I mean, a heavy influence. Anyway, really cool story, beautiful art. I'll pick up the early issues as well.

That Ras Al Ghul story was (and maybe is) my favorite comic books story as a kid. I don't have the original issue but I do have this......

this was part of my big 4 comics as a kid, I still need the Supes v. Ali, to complete the 4. someday, but that Ras story is top notch!

(and..... I'm no hippie!)
