Been awhile since I signed someone here up for The Gay Porn of the Month Club.

Not everybody checks out the galleries, so I thought I would post this here too.
Back in 2002 I saw David Lapham at his Stray Bullets booth and I had kind of been out of comics at that point and wasn't sure if it was the same guy and I said "Hey are you the same David Lapham who drew Shadowman??" ... he said he was and I begged him to draw me a sketch even though he said he didn't really remember how.
This was the result
I like the fact that he says "I tried!!!" .... he did promise to draw me a better one the following year if I brought him a reference, but I never did ... HA!

I sent mine back in April/May. Hope he still has it and that it didn't get lost in the mail or whatever

Publishing | David Lapham announced yesterday that his Vertigo crime series Young Liars has been canceled with August’s Issue 18: “I’m mostly bummed because YL was so much *SQUEE* FUN to work on, and it’s not the kind of story that you can just go into from the start. It evolved into what it was and creatively, that was kind of magical and I never took it for granted.” [Standard Attrition]

That sucks. I've really been enjoying the book. Can David take the book elsewhere or does DC/Vertigo own it?sonicdan wrote:Publishing | David Lapham announced yesterday that his Vertigo crime series Young Liars has been canceled with August’s Issue 18: “I’m mostly bummed because YL was so much *SQUEE* FUN to work on, and it’s not the kind of story that you can just go into from the start. Oh no! I just re-read the books out so far and I enjoyed them much more the 2nd time around. I agree the after the first 6-7 issues, it's like what the heck is this all about. The 2nd story arc is when things get much more interesting and the 1st story arc makes a lot more sense when you re-read it.
Bummer about the cancellation
