Of course, seeing as no one has bid on the two listed, I think most ebayers are too smart to be gouged like that. I hope so.

I wouldn't, but it looks like some people are willing to pay more than the beginning bid prices. Look at the high sales for 9.6.

It's been a little while since Magnus 9.6 went for that much, though... and only once.

I'm not sure it fits into the hall of shame, as it's pretty darn funny. The questions are almost as good as the ad!!

Here's an excerpt from the ad, "Not only will you be a permanent part of comic book lore as "The guy who paid $50,000 for NFL Superpro #1" you'll also be part of Ebay history. You'll totally win out over the Jesus sandwich. I bet you'll even get on TeeVee.... "

And there's more! "Best yet: If you win more than one of my auctions I'll combine shipping!"

Hurry fast- he's only got TWO left. AND he drastically reduced the opening bid price. Wonder what the opening bid price actually was?
Shipping is quite a steal, too. :thumb:

Does anyone else smell a scam, read his great explanation as to why he has no reason to rip you off. [/quote]

If he sold all 50 lots at about 20 bucks each (that's including shipping) he would make about $1000.00; this is not nearly as much if he would make if he graded Hulk 181. It doesn't make any sense. I smell a scam too:atomic:

I am pretty sure that this is against eBay policy.

I used to see rip off auctions like this all the time. Haven't seen em much lately, because my searches are more defined. How does e-bay allow this crap when they have no way to control it?

seller says 10% chance of getting a high dollar book, but he means 100% chance of getting the shaft. It would be nice if feedback said if they got a good book or not and which book they got. I wouldn't go for one of these types of auction, because I don't need more crap sitting around.

I agree...looks like a scam to me. I definitely won't be bidding on a "grab bag." I never trust grab bags anyway, I think that's just a way for people to unload junk on you. I never bid on a Valiant grab bag, even...I'm sure it would have 2-3 Turok #1's and some later issues of Secret Weapons and Archer and Armstrong. Yawn.

No it's not. Any person involved in a transaction is allowed to leave any feedback they like, even in 'retaliation' (after all, isn't ALL negative feedback retaliation for SOMETHING...?) so long as a buyer didn't win for the sole purpose of leaving negative feedback...

...I just wish the seller would learn to spell....

...and drop the nasty chip he's got on his shoulder....

...sellers like that suck.

I hate grab bags for the very simple reason that there's a very good chance you have NO chance. At least in Vegas, you have SOME chance, even if the odds are 10,000,000 to one.

With grab bags, the odds very well may be 1 to zero, 10,000,000 to zero, the first number doesn't matter....it's the 'zero' that negates the whole thing.

And no, there's nothing to stop a seller at ALL from 'not' including the 'good stuff'. Nothing but their conscience....HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

I've reported him to eBay for a variety of listing violations, he has two more of the same auctions running now.
