Well, Twilight Princess is finished. I fought the final boss last night. Looong battle, but not insanely hard to beat. I loved the ending sequence which went along with the final battle. I'm surprised that they did not incorporate speaking parts into this one. I hope they manage it with the next one I think it would really add to the game. For those of you who haven't got a Wii yet this game alone is reason enough to get one.

Playing True Crime Streets of LA. From my MySpace blog:
This weekend, I finally tried playing my first regular bout of gaming since I broke my elbow. It worked pretty well so I'm back in (gaming) action. I'm really behind on True Crime: Streets of LA on the X-Box. That game is my release. It's better for releaving tension than popping bubble rap, sex and therapy combined.
I got it on a special deal for a few bucks with LOTR: The Two Towers and Enter the Matrix. I played the other two first because I expected more out of them. The Two Towers was fun but repetative. The Matrix had it's good points but I got very sick very fast of beating up or shooting the same damn police officers in the same damn ways over and over. If I'm just breezing though the levels it's kinda fun but I wanted to bash my TV in whenever I couldn't figure out a level and had to replay the wretched thing repeatedly
So I decided to take a break and pop in True Crime. After I got used to the controls, I realized I was an idiot. This was hands down the best game of the lot. Ironically, you do most of the same things as the Matrix: you shoot, fight, sneak and drive but with True Crime it's actually...fun.
True Crime is just very well designed. The controls work well for all the different gameplay types. The levels are short, quick rushes of adrenline with lots of variety in them. The music, cinema scenes, and smart a** comments from the hero just create the perfect atmosphere. You really feel like you're a bad a** cop in an well written, funny, over-the-top action movie you control.
It's addictive as hell and it's hard to not want to play that next level. Hell, even when I'm stuck on a level, I can play it 20 times in a row and still have fun. I've beat the game as a bad cop. Now I'm trying to get the good endings which actually require skill (it's hard to not kill innocent people while getting the bad guys...pesky civilians always getting in the way...).
It's not a game that revolutioned anything but it just feels so damn good to play it. It's just hard to argue with game design like that. Now if only the Matrix would let me get in hand-to-hand combat with strippers, chase down the guy who stole George Lucas' cellphone and get in gunfights with crazed stockbrokers, then I could have fun with that one too.

I had it for the GameCube, since I couldn't wait to play it until I could find a Wii. Kind of glad I did, since I gave up on trying to find one and went with the 360 instead.Daniel Jackson wrote:Well, Twilight Princess is finished. I fought the final boss last night. Currently playing Oblivion, although I'm not that far in yet. It seems like it could soak up a lot of time on that one.
Has anybody downloaded Settlers of Catan off marketplace yet? My wife is a huge fan of the board game and I was thinking it could be a good way to get her on the 360.

It's nice that they released it for the GC, but a big part of the fun of Twilight Princess is using the Wiimote.iccarus wrote:I had it for the GameCube, since I couldn't wait to play it until I could find a Wii.Daniel Jackson wrote:Well, Twilight Princess is finished. Forza 2 on the 360 ... it's not as good as GT4, but it's getting there. I've been racing like a mofo for days now.
Last night I bought a car in the online auction (you use credits you earn during the game) to finish up a race series and didn't realize until I started racing that someone had painted some big anime knockers on the hood.
