I wish more about modern comics other then Valiant.Reciently got back into Marvel cosmic key appearances just getting a bit more familiar with them. Not even sure I know the market on them yet.I Just buy what I like.StarBrand wrote:Thanks to those of you who have helped make this thread something special, by breaking out cool info on modern books that others could use. A pox on those of you who only gather info here, but never share any even though you could.
(To be clear, the pox only applies to those few who really know the modern market, but never help their fellow comic fan with knowledge here, even though they have plenty of it). You are takers, not givers! Takers, I say!

One book I don't think is hot now but has potential is Fantastic Four #205 1st nova corps that IMJ suggested. It is fairly cheap now but has good potential in my opinion.
If Thanos or anyone else wants the infinity gems in a Marvel movie they will have to go to Xandar to get the one in the vault guarded by the nova corps.

Not hot or hot fat all, but whenever I see ASM annual 22 for a buck or so, I'll pick it up. I don't know what they are doing right now with him, but Speedball reminds me of gotg. Lame character that could be cool if done right. And could appeal to younger kids especially with Disney on board.

Ah... thanks for the offer, but I will decline. Just noticing my "trend" again - whenever I sell something that isn't worth anything, it starts trending upward after.

You should pretend to sell stuff. Or sell one copy of something you have a ton of.slym2none wrote:Ah... thanks for the offer, but I will decline. Just noticing my "trend" again - whenever I sell something that isn't worth anything, it starts trending upward after.

If I pretend to sell a comic, then it will just pretend to go up in price. And I am not a speculator, so I don't have a ton of any one issue.kjjohanson wrote:You should pretend to sell stuff. Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
A tip after the Baltimore show: Stuff of Legends series, SOL: The Dark #1 is the first issue, there are a few limited editions around and a Free Comic Book Day issue with a long preview of issue 1 - This is a series that had some initial hype but leveled off a bit - I know the creators a bit and there is a Disney film in the works (which has been mentioned on some sites) - hate to play the cool kids card but other info that I can't say just yet leads me to believe the movie is imminent and more big announcements will follow soon- (think Disney big push plus Toy Story tie in)
The great thing about this series, aside from it being very well done is that it has been in TPB form from the start (selling very well in that form) and the floppies are essentially one print and done prieviews for the comic book shop crowd, aside from a second print of the very first issue - all of this could add up to some very hot books in the near future - personally I grab the #1 whenever I can get it for >$10 but I could see many issues heating up based on low print runs of a book that is very popular in TPB form.... I don't ever like to compare something to TWD but there are similarities in the distribution mindset.

Anyone going to the NY con, if you would be willing to pick up a copy of Image's "Spread" exclusive for me, I'd be much appreciative. LMK your terms/conditions via PM, please.

You're several months behind chief....this book peaked awhile ago (although it still sells very well). I should direct you to the cgc 'moderns' heating up thread, but it's like 2300 pages or something ridiculous.StarBrand wrote:The Last Of Us, American Dreams from Dark Horse.

I actually checked that thread out last week, and read several pages which were mostly banter between members and decided I didn't have the time to invest in that thread. Is that the thread Elveen said he recently read?GGSAE wrote:You're several months behind chief....this book peaked awhile ago (although it still sells very well). Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
CGC changed their Modern tier to include everything from 1975 on, so this is Modern:

I actually have 3 CGC threads currently open on my phone: Bronze, Copper, and modern.
When I read them I feel like a 49er..... gotta do a grip of sifting to get a small nug of gold.
Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
Next time we discuss a hot modern comic in this thread before they do at the CGC boards, someone needs to be obnoxious and go over there and tell them they're late to the party when they bring it up.
