Re: QUANTUM & WOODY IN JULY!!!
Cool deal, I'll check it out. I really liked MD Bright back in the day. Green Lantern Emerald Dawn was the defining Green Lantern origin for me.The Dirt Gang wrote:I don't think it would diminish it. The original definitely feels a bit dated in terms of the look but Priest has some really clever and witty moments. I recently reread the first two tpbs and it wasn't as good all around as I remembered but worth it for a couple of really brilliant gags/jokes and some poignant humor.Carson wrote:
Question for the Q&W lovers out there, should I go back and read the old stuff, or not because it might diminish the power of the new book?
And count me in as someone who many years ago loved the original and wasn't into VEI's version. However, after all the praise I checked it out and found it to be a solid read.

I'm really looking forward to Greg's estimated print run on Quantum and Woody 1.

Has there ever been a thread about a VEI first issue on the board with this much activity, or even close to it?

Wasn't a good portion of it just Quotem copying and pasting? If so, his posts don't countStarBrand wrote:Has there ever been a thread about a VEI first issue on the board with this much activity, or even close to it?

Quotem's first appearance was comment #183, so this thread was already well underway though... so yeah, I hope all the VF.com chatter is a good indicator that interest is high in the book!

Does that make this thread a collectible? Has Greg already had it slabbed and graded?Carson wrote:Quotem's first appearance was comment #183, so this thread was already well underway though... so yeah, I hope all the VF.com chatter is a good indicator that interest is high in the book!

While Quotem's first appearance consisted of other people's quotes back in comment #183, many Valiant Fans contend that his first full appearance wasn't until comment #192 when he engaged in an actual dialogue with Magnusr, and proved he wasn't simply some Malev copy and paste bot from the future.BugsySig wrote:Does that make this thread a collectible? Fans are still puzzled by his sentence fragment style, but they realize that one who copies and pastes regularly need not get too entangled nouns, verbs, adjectives and the like.
Sadly, the popular Quotem has disappeared from ValiantFans.com and joined other VF fan favorites like Charty in the super villain hall of fame.
