The same LCS that I found the $2.50 version of visitor had a Hulk 181 right in the sun in their counter. I asked to see it, just to say I had held one, and they wouldnt let me (all i could think of was the sun's consistent damage to that book).

They'll let it burn in the sun, but not let a customer hold it? What a great place.....

It's not VALIANT, but I'm damn proud of it!

Image

It was a mere $16.99 shipped! The seller had no pics, only a description and good feedback. I was the only bidder at $9.99, I imagine the seller would be sick to know my snipe was set at more than 10 times the opening bid. This book completes my Quality Comics run of The Spirit! :cloud9:

When I started, I never dreamed that I would actually complete a series that ran from 1944-1950. Now I'm thinking I need to pull togethter the Sunday inserts.....

very nice! Heck, I'd be happy just to have a complete set of the Kitchen Sink comic size reprints. I've got one Spirit newspaper section...somewhere around here. It's in pretty nice shape for old newsprint.

No way. I feel like that was a steal actually. I've seen them go for a whole hell of a lot more.

I'm not saying it's a bad price, it's not unless it does finally gets reprinted. I always fear the reprint on these books.

But as the market stands now, it's a fair price! :thumb:

Yeah, I wish I could know the exact moment these were getting reprinted. My auctions would end a few days beforehand.

I have my doubts about this series ever being reprinted, though.

Right now I'm only missing #7, and #8 to having a complete reading set. I have the 3rd and 4th trade paperbacks and as I get them I'm selling off the individual issues.

Went to an LCS today and bought about 350 comics from their 10-cent boxes. I had to do some sorting and it took me about two hours to organize and put this stuff together but I got:

Detective Comics #598 through 658.

Complete runs of every Superman title from right after Reign of the Supermen through Superman: Y2K

Complete run of the 80's Phantom Stranger miniseries.

Impulse #1 through 45

Hawkman (1993 series) #1 through 30

The Spectre (1990s series) #1 through 20

Re-Animator miniseries (Adventure comics)

Green Lantern "Emerald Twilight" series.

Legends of the Dark Knight #1 through 89.

I want to find 10 cent boxes.

I'd relieve them of a great portion of their overstock. I promise.

found a local shop I hadn't been to, I was pretty excited when the first thing I saw was several tables set up with longboxes on top and a sign that said "All comics on this table, 25 cents". I picked up about 100 books, here's what I got that was VALIANT/Acclaim related:

Armed and Dangerous Special
Armed and Dangerous: Hell's Slaughterhouse #1, 2, 4
Armorines Vol. 2 #1, 2
Bloodshot: Last Stand (sadly, it had a price sticker on the cover)
HARD Corps #5 (Comic Defense)
Magnus: Robot Fighter #11
Ninjak #26
NIO #1 (5 copies), 2 (2 copies), 3, 4
Shadowman #42
Shadowman TPB sealed
Turok: Redpath
Turok: Child of Blood
Turok: The Empty Souls
Turok/Shadowman
Vintage Magnus #1, 2, 3, 4
X-O Manowar #15 (PINK)
