Ahh, but VALIANT is also spelled "v-a-l-A-I-n-t" that is the search I used to find it.

The Valiant pre-Unity back issue craze was just getting ramped up and I was at a comic convention back in Portland. I couldn't believe some of the prices and I was kicking myself for not buying more extra copies than I did. Anyway, I saw one dealer selling Harbinger 1-5 in really nice condition - I am very picky about the condition of my books - and at a less crazy price than others. And I saw another dealer who really wanted to buy pre-Unity Valiants. So, I started talking deals with both of them and in the end, I bought the run from one dealer and sold the 2-5 to the other dealer for the same price so I walked away with a beautiful Harbinger 1 with coupon for free! That was a $100 book back then.

I recently sent in my best Harbinger 1 to get graded and it came back 9.8. I wonder if it was the free one :hm:
Cool story. It's fun when there's a little history/story attached to your Valiants. It was an exciting time back then. I guess you could say it is again. :thumb:
It is a good time again. We all really owe Greg for creating a place where Valiants could remain alive so that now we can all enjoy new Valiant books with other fans.

I'd recommend reading the Noble Causes TPB that came with it. That's a series that's always at the top of my read pile. Or you could just send it to me.

I'd say that's a very sweet deal - Steel Nation + the X-O Blue Variant for less than $7 shipped

Still need Geomancer & X-O for all 4.

I'm surprised he didn't list it as a "flat funny book".....

LOL. You know, I didn't even notice that the X-O was a blue variant! Thanks for pointing that out, Hulkman!

I won an auction a week ago with a Ninjak 25 and a Unity Vol 2 TPB and some commons for $2.50

I needed the Ninjak and Unity so I was pretty stoked.

So I got these today and am pretty ticked. They were wrapped in a Walmart bag and put in a letter sized manilla envelope. Of course this meant they were crammed into my mailbox. I just emailed the seller and said I want my s/h back.

My budget will never be able to afford it and I am in it for the reading. Golds = trade for more commons. I traded whovianone a psi-lords gold and a dr mirage gold and the penguin for a crap load of commons.
