I'm willing to bury the hatchet if he's willing to come into here and discuss comics and not stir up drama. Can't we just be happy that these comics are in production instead of worrying about the backstage politics?

I feel like he came here to do nothing more than to start trouble, and if that's going to be allowed by the site's moderation staff than he should not be allowed to post here, especially if it's just going to be a click n' paste brigade for something that went down on another forum. All in all I AM willing to bury the hatchet if he is....

Perhaps I mis-judged you ireactions (still not going to read it).

A piece of advice, coming in to this board as a hostile to members is not appreciated.

I read and participated in the CBR conversation and that's fine but coming over here and posting up a bunch of quotes from the CBR thread is not really an appropriate way to enter a community.

This is a strong community and we are passionate about Valiant and this board, please respect that and do the courtesy of joining the community before hopping on a high horse and critising fellow members.

You fought this battle with Bugsy and Manga over at CBR, why did you join here? Was your thinking you could embarass Bugsy or Manga over here? If so it didn't work.

Which is why we should stop talking about the IP issue on this thread if we do not want to the CBR discussion to be in this thread. it's an open unmoderated forum and I think that it's hypocrisy to say that we old members can talk about a certain topic but new posters can not specially if it is against the opinions of the old members.
I never said he couldn't talk about it I was just pointing out it's not a good way to join a community and I question the reasoning of starting up a membership to drag a bunch of stuff from CBR over to here just because the discussion has cooled over there.

Sorry you think I'm a hypocrite.

I don't see why manga4life and Bugsy or anyone should be upset to see things they wrote in public shared here. It's their words, why would the sight of things they proudly said in public be embarrassing or upsetting or cause them any trouble?

manga4life says he has won every debate on these matters, that he's proud of his words and the response they received. Why should it cause him any distress to see words he wrote in public shared in public? Why would it cause trouble? How can they be offended by their own words?

Why does it cause trouble to share quotes from a former literary agent and Acclaim employee about QUANTUM AND WOODY in this thread? That's just information. It's neutral.

I'm not upset at the copy and paste at all, it's just that the members here kind of wanted to discuss the book and not the politics surrounding it. So move on or talk about the book itself. Seriously, everyone was over it like 3 pages ago, it's you who can't seem to just leave it alone. You should just let it go, everyone else has.......

I tried to get the thread back on track asking fans what they want to see out of the book, you're welcome to join the discussion if you stay on track.....

So again, what did you guys think about the art? I think it looks pretty awesome, I'm hoping the story is as good as the art previews have been and like I said before, I'm hoping for some interesting interactions with these guys and existing Valiant characters.

Color me excited.

I don't have much faith in Asmus' writing for this series specially after seeing his blackout boxes. It has a Daniel Way vibe.

Fair enough, I'm going to give the first few issues a try like I did with A&A before I fully make up my mind on it. I have faith that it could be a fun book but the style of comic that it appears to be usually isn't my mug of beer, the odd couple and comedic theme usually don't resonate with me.

I just can't wait to get my hands on those original unpublished issues they were talking about! Especially since Priest is on board for em! I hope they fill the gap between 21 and 32! I dont recall offhand, didnt they originally say that they had 33, 34 in the can?

Well if we are gong with full disclosure, before ireactions turns this into "Manga and Bugsy are just unreasonable *SQUEE*," let me say first, I invited anyone from CBR to post here. That was after someone declared we were discussing it here and being unreasonable. I simply tried to clarify by saying I have not said anything here that I haven't said there, and to post here rather than insult this forum or its members. I was chastised for that, and told they had better things to do than follow me across the Internet (apparently not).

I made my points on CBR, and when it got beyond the point of the conversation being productive anymore, and it turned to bullying and insults, I ceased commenting. Ireactions then began PMing me insults in an attempt to goad me into returning to the debate. His last PM wished me bodily harm...specifically that I be beaten and robbed...in a crude attempt at an analogy.

When that tactic failed to stir me up, he came here and began posting. So before he convinces anyone into thinking his motives are all pure, think about that for a moment.

I have no more desire to discuss this topic as it makes me physically ill to do so at this point. Nor do I have any desire to engage in any discussion about any topic with a bully like ireactions. I would ask that no one engage in any similar behavior here, because the people here are better than that. If ireactions chooses to continue to post here beyond this, which I doubt since he is not a VALIANT fan, I will have no problem with it, but I will not engage in any direct discussion with him.

I think the art looks okay, and I don't know enough about Asmus' writing to judge whether or not I think it'll be good. It's Valiant, and I'll support them by giving it a shot. Buddy books have never been my favorite genre, but I've actually liked the new A&A alot so far and I have hope that Q&W will be good as well.

I'm not gonna delve into the legal side since I'm not a lawyer, but unless Priest and Bright speak up that they have some issue with things as they are, then I'm going to assume VEI is in the right and I'm not going to worry about it.

Haven't read this entire thread (yet), but as a funny coincidence i am currently re-reading my Grendel comics and just got to the back of Grendel:War Child #1. In the back Wagner is explaining why it took so long to follow up the Comico series. In doing so he inserted an explanation from an industry vet (at the time) who explained a funny set of circumstances. When creators add reversion clauses to their contracts those clauses (and by extension, the very contracts themselves) are not enforceable for a very simple reason: the US Government has specific laws WRT assets (including IP) and how they are handled under bankruptcy. Civil contracts CANNOT ever supersede federal law and therefore become null and void. So regardless of whether someone had contracts with Acclaim or not, the second Acclaim filed for bankruptcy all claims against Acclaims asset became subject to existing federal law, and any contract that contained language counter to federal law became void.

Sorry if this was already posted elsewhere, just wanted to post while it was fresh in my mind.
