Are you a butcher? Seems you do alot of meat beating.Knightt wrote:Yeah, chicks are good at the OLD games. I remember back then I was too busy beating my meat than playing with COMPUTER GAMES. So that gets me NO advantage these days... I still beat my meat and my wife kicks my *SQUEE* at OLD computer games.

Back on topic now, I just beat Goldeneye. (Again) So now I think I will go back to ogre battle 64. I might play No Mercy just for kicks. I think as far as a wwf game goes it is one of if not THE best game they made. The options for CAW is amazing. The controls are easy to learn. I have not met anyone yet that can win against me. It's just an all around great wrestling game. I might go back on ocarina of time and try to find the last empty bottle. That is the only thing keeping me from 100%. I know how to get it, I just never take the time to do it. Got to get all them damn poes. This thread gives me an idea for a new topic.
I am sure it is allready on here somewhere.

Oh hey, thanks for putting us back on topic... it was getting way outta control.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:Back on topic now, I just beat Goldeneye. (Again) So now I think I will go back to ogre battle 64. Played through a lot more games on Taito Legends. The only additional "no more continues" surprises I found on the games was Operation Thunderbolt which will give you a permanent game over if you die on the last boss or kill the pilot and Space Gun which will give you a permanent game over if you destroy the cockpit of your escape ship at the end.
I didn't play many light gun games much in the arcade but I'm having a blast with Operation Wolf and Space Gun. Plotting is also a surprisingly enjoyable and additictive puzzle game. Gladiator, Elevator Action, and Zoo Keeper are the games I'm playing the most.

What video game am I currently playing?
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (2-player Free Skate)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Star Wars: Obi-Wan (2-player Jedi Battle)
Avatar: The Last Airbender
The Incredibles
All in about 5 minute increments. We have other games, but that is the current rotation. My son (almost 7 yrs old) has fallen in love with the X-Box that Santa brought us for Christmas. He just can't decide on what game to play! He's never played on a console system before - just the computer (keyboard/mouse) and the self-contained arcade collection in a joystick type games. Oh, and an old Pokemon game on his original Gameboy. So, he's still getting used to the controller and game mechanics.
I had today off from work and spent 90% of the day just playing with my son. Video games, his Avatar action figures, other Christmas gifts, etc. But most of the time was spent on the Xbox. It took him a while to figure out what to do, but once he did, his favorite game to play became Tony Hawk's Pro Skater - but only in 2 player free skate mode and his goal is just to keep knocking me down. Next up would be the 2-player Jedi Combat in Star Wars: Obi-Wan. Of course, I let him win 2 out of 3 matches.
He's out of school, so I let him stay up late with me tonight playing games. Hopefully sometime soon I'll get some time to really dig into Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Madden NFL, and a few others that are calling to me.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I meant to add, the games Santa brought was:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Tony Hawk's Pro Skating 3
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
Spider-Man 2
Madden NFL 2006
The Incredibles
My sister also gave us some games. Which, while appreciated, kinda irritated me. I specifically called her and told her that this was a Santa gift and my son is smart enough to wonder how his aunt would know what Santa was going to bring him. I told her that if she wanted to get him/us a game, wait until his birthday next month. She didn't. So from her, we got:
Star Wars: Obi-Wan
Namco Museum 50th Anniversary
Forza Motorsport
(And yes, my son did think about it. When he opened his gift from her and saw it was a game, he looked at the game, looked at her, looked back at the game and said, "It's a good thing Santa brought me an Xbox!")

I have been TOTALLY off video games here of late with the holidays and Alyssa's ER visit, THEN what she had she gave to me... I mean it was inevidable (sp?) as I was with her as much as possible, either holding her, napping with her or just whatever. Physically and mentally I was just not up to it.
So it has not really been until TODAY that I even feel like playing anything and I think that I will still put it off a few days so that I can catch up on my reading.

Playing Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. It's a fun game... but they must have rushed the port to Xbox360 because it is filled with glitches and freezes... very annoying.
The gameplay is fun and it kinda reminds me of the SW trilogy games they put for the Super Nintendo. The puzzles are challenging but not so difficult you want to pull your hair out. It's got a good sense of humour as well.
But, man, the glitches and freezes are driving me insane! I've been trying to do the Super Story portion of Return of the Jedi and the damn thing freezes about 40 minutes into it. Okay, no problem... take a couple deep breaths and a break from it. Tried it again and freezes in the exact same spot at the same time. I'm at 95.6% complete of the game. Guess I'll have to wait for Xbox Live to do a patch... apparently others are stuck in the same boat as me. Not happy.
Thanks to Boxing Day sales and January clearances though, I have been able to stock up on games at a discounted price... Gears of War, NHL 07, and Call of Duty 3 are lined up.

I had a similar problem with 'GUN' for Gamecube. There were about 3 spots where the thing would seize up and not let me advance. I was finally able to get past them after restarting the game several times, but it was frustrating.mavros wrote:Playing Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. Picked up Battlestar Galactica and some futuristic race game for Xbox... I was bored, had nothing else to buy. Both are as equally uneventful as the other.
Ah well... if I didnt have work to do for Monday, I would pick up Ultimate Alliance or Justice League Hereos but probably not tonight. Just too much to do.

Finally got around to finishing Final Fantasy 12 tonight. I'd pushed through a ton of the side quests, then just kind of quit right before the final battle because of the holidays.
Of course, I'd over-leveled my characters so much the final battles were just cake, but it was still a great ending. Well worth the 80+ hours I put in to it.
Now, I have to decide if I want to wait until I can get my hands on a Wii to buy the new Zelda or just pick it up for Game Cube.

My son starts back to school on Monday and will be going to bed early again. Maybe then I can spend some quality time with the Xbox and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
My son really wants to enjoy the Avatar game, but it's a little above his level right now. It reminds me a lot of Diablo with more of an RPG element. He doesn't want to follow the map or follow the mission objectives. He just wants to walk around fighting. Picking up items and equiping the characters with them to boost their stats and all the talking/reading involved is just a little too much for him right now. It is rated "10 or older" so maybe I should have expected that? If it was multi-player like Marvel Ultimate Alliance is so I could actually play with him and do the hard things for him and guide him along, he would probably enjoy it more. I do think it's a pretty cool game - it's just a bit advanced for him.
