Crazy times... I emailed a guy who had an auction for some Comico books I wanted to get. I usually bid in the last seconds, kind of like a personal snipe tactic... anyways I was not around to bid on it and missed out.
The auctions was starting bid of $10.00 + $6.00 s/h. So, I email and ask if they are still available or if he is going to relist them as I am interested in them and missed the auction (it happens right ?)... he writes back with 'yes, they are still available, I will sell them directly to you for $13.00 plus $5.00 s/h'... total $18.00. If I bid it would have been $16.00 as nobody bid on this auction, so where did the extra $2.00 come from ?
I agreed to the terms anyways but dont feel comfortable with this.
Am I wrong ? I mean hell... my 'judgement' seems to be 'off' today anyways.

he's taking advantage of your desire for the books...he took your contact as a sign that he could pimp a couple of extra bucks out of you...IMOKnightt wrote:Crazy times... Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?
I would have to agree. Yes, I want the books and two bucks is not going to break my bank this month but on the flip side it is only two bucks... why 'stoop' to get an extra two bucks? Even at the added price, I find the books to be a decent of enough deal and within my price range... but geez.
I am paranoid to begin with but damn, the human race just disappoints me at times. If it is not drama it is scandal.
This board is populated by some damn decent folks though, I really must say. I have come to find out through dealings with board members it feels better to give than to recieve. Oh yes, recieving stuff is really cool... but that feeling of making someone else feel good has always and WILL always feel better.
So for this Ebay person that is 'willing to sell' me what I want for $2.00 more than I could have gotten it for.... well just makes me want to hole up for the day.

This just keeps on getting better... I just recieved the following email.
SWEET... I am paying for piece of mind. Thank God, $2.00 will save on many a sleepless night.Assuming I receive your money this weekend, I'll pack up the books and put them in the mail to you on Monday morning. As for the price, I originally auctioned the books at $13 ($0.50 ea.) and, when they didn't sell, reduced the price in another auction to $10. I was planning to post them again (the third time) this weekend with some other books at the original $0.50 per book price. Since I bought them all for about $2 each, it still seems like you're getting a pretty good deal. Also, by buying direct, you're getting the books without having to wait for another auction to end and worrying about being out-bid.
