I never actually read it. I was mainly turned off by the concept and the fact that it was out of continuity. Maybe I need to take another look.Dallow Spicer1 wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:05 amIronically I thought Valiant High was readable when you take it for what it was (ie out of continuity)GammaJosh wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 8:50 amSame here. Breaking a complete set intentionally is almost unfathomable. I have generally enjoyed almost everything to some degree, but I'll admit I had zero interest in Valiant High and only bought it to keep my Valiant collection complete.Chiclo wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 7:47 am I still have the “gotta get ‘em all” mindset about Valiant. Not for the covers, but I do still pre-order all (both?) of the Valiant books each month.

Comixology sale it’d be worth it, especially with less books coming out. I’m not over hyping it though, it’s just decent.GammaJosh wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:07 amI never actually read it. I have the singles here. They just went straight into a longbox unread.Dallow Spicer1 wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:10 am

Hey hey hey now, I can be witty. I just don't want to waste it on that kid!Dallow Spicer1 wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 1:49 amHigh praise indeed! I might make this my new auto signature!

I had that going on for a long time too, but in the age of variants and amidst other hunts it was just a lot to keep up with unnecessarily. So when I finally dropped all of the Valiant monthlies, I turned to the Deluxe books for several years. That was the first time I embraced "trade waiting" over buying monthlies! I have about 20 of those deluxe editions on a bookshelf right here next to my desk. Not really sure if I'll ever pour over them again though - maybe the 4001 a.d. and Rai stuff.....Chiclo wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 7:47 am I still have the “gotta get ‘em all” mindset about Valiant. I was ordering the Valiant bundle on DCBS but it looks like they don’t offer a monthly bundle anymore so I pre-order the two books individually.
Digital has found a place in my collecting, finally. But it's not for the monthly reading as much as archiving and quick reference on the fly for me.... I'm still reeling from the GiT Corp Bloodshot fiasco lmao!Dallow Spicer1 wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:10 am Comixology sale it’d be worth it, especially with less books coming out. I use Comixology when I want to try stuff I’m not sure about..if it’s a dud you don’t mind as you paid less for it. Found some gems though, like Ed Brubaker Criminal series !IMJ wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 12:40 pmDigital has found a place in my collecting, finally.
