Interesting. None of the Harby 1s are mine, and neither is the Solar 15. Somebody is pressing some Harby 1s I suspect!

Hey Steve, sorry if I missed it but have you been using CGC to press books while you submit? And if so, can you give us an example of a book that you have in your possession that you could show us?

I don't really press many books. I do press and clean expensive books like my Hulk 181 and Giant Size X-Men 1. Not sure there is much to see and I don't take before after pictures.

It does not help that each invoice had different instructions. We still have some disagreement, as CGC said I did not indicate having a minimum prescreen request on some of these (which I recall submitting in the drop down box on the new form). In any event, to make a very long story short:

-They are returning 9 9.6 slabs that I don't really want (approx $140 in fees incurred).
-They are pressing and regrading 32 books at no charge (approx $384 in fees).
-They are reimbursing $204 in shipping charges.

The net-net:
-I figure I'm getting about $244 in free pressing after accounting for the prescreen bungle.
-I get to compare the grades I received before pressing was done, and then again afterward. I'm actually very excited about this, and will find it invaluable to compare the benefits of pressing with actual before/after grades performed by CGC. Once this is done, I'll share with the boards, because I think it will be extremely valuable (especially for me, as I'm pretty familiar with the defects and look of the books as slabbed).
-I also wasted several hours sorting, figuring out issues, unpacking, repacking, posting, cataloging, etc.
UPDATE: The Fast Track promised hasn't really been a fast track. So, it took 2 months for them to press my books. The two invoices just moved to Fast Track grading today. All in, they've had my books for 5 months now. I'm expecting to receive them in the next month or so. My last modern submission took only 2 weeks to turn around, and they weren't even on fast track. Crazy.

Steve,

That is exactly how long my last submission took.... 2 weeks. The kicker is... They were Signature Series all the way from ECCC and I had them in hand in 2 weeks. That IS crazy!

I'm super psyched about that. Good times. However, my screwed up submission will have taken 6 months, at best!

Above are the changes that pressing made on the grades. No negative drawbacks. A few stayed the same. Some drastic increases. Should have the oyster grades next week. Super pleased on most of these. A few surprises as well.
