I was just gonna say something about that. That's not something you try unless you already know it can't kill you. For that matter, you don't attack a dinosaur in general unless you already know you're gonna win.grendeljd wrote:My point wasn't that it bothered *me* that he seemed to get bitten by the dino, it's that *he* wasn't bothered by it.
I know, Captain Obvious statement of the year, right there.

Ok, time to eat crow for this STOOPID naysayer:
I loved this.
I never thought of Turok while reading it. Yes, dinosaurs- but this is not Turok, at all, in it's essence. I loved the Clayton Henry pencilled backstory, but let's jump to the star(s) of the book:
LaRosa and Brian Reber. Damn it, that opening sequence is one of the most beautiful pages that VEI has put out. True Awesome Stuff. I was expecting good, but not seeing the previews in color was the best thing I did. I was wowed by that first page alone.
Only complaint: short. I wanted more info, for a first issue. And (not a complaint, but...) I can't see how this kid will fit into the VEIverse and what he brings to the table. He's a teen wildling who is skilled at hunting dinos. Faraway Park Ranger?
But aside that, GREAT book and I'm GLAD I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG.
Bravo to all the artists involved and for VEI for giving us a dino-hunter that is not Turok-light.

I can see him fitting fine into the VEI universe.ShadowTuga wrote:Ok, time to eat crow for this STOOPID naysayer:

It's early. This could go anywhere after the first arc or two. Have faith.ShadowTuga wrote:I can't see how this kid will fit into the VEIverse and what he brings to the table.

Oh yeah, like I said not really a complaint, just a huge "Hmmm..."jmatt wrote:It's early. This could go anywhere after the first arc or two. Have faith.ShadowTuga wrote:I can't see how this kid will fit into the VEIverse and what he brings to the table.

I can't imagine what is the direction of this (stopped reading previews a long time) and that is a really great thing.

I never, ever read previews and if I see pre-released art teasers, I try to avoid that too. Why spoil the fun?ShadowTuga wrote:Oh yeah, like I said not really a complaint, just a huge "Hmmm..."jmatt wrote:It's early. This could go anywhere after the first arc or two. Like you, I am enjoying the new content; we have no idea what will happen next.
