Re: April 2016 Solicitations
My prediction is that A+A is going to be an unmitigated disaster. The art on the covers and interiors is just so bad. I almost don't even want to get it despite the fact that I loved the first series and have every valiant book since the relaunch (with the exception of the Q2 miniseries).
Also, the Wrath of Eternal Warrior book is incapable of having a good cover. Cover art is so important to collectors. A friend of mine dropped the book based solely on the covers. And with this second me arc it's going to have awful interiors too. So sad.
Everything else looks fantastic though

Re: April 2016 Solicitations
I suppose I should edit my complaint regarding eternal warrior covers. None of the REGULAR eternal warrior covers look good. I refuse to pay more than $4 for a single comic book, so limited variants don't even get my attention.

Agree on the A&A interiors - terrible... I'm also not a fan of the story arc either. I won't be picking it up.

Re: April 2016 Solicitations
To each it's own, of course, but I loved LotG's art. Not worried about Ryp's or V-Ditty's work on WotEW (actually, so far i'm enjoying the art more than the story) as much as "what is the point of this new series ( Adventures...), besides keeping A&A on the shelves?". Maybe it's the premise of the first arc and the way they are advertising the characters (teenage marksman? Are we still on that Archer?) that just doesn't make me want to read it, honestly.
it is actually good, but i'm not holding my breath. FVL left some pretty BIG shoes.

I know it's stupid, but GIN-GR is one of my favorite characters. It's not really a character. More like an object that has obtained character-level status. Kitt. Batmobile. Maltese Falcon.

Blockbuster? We haven't read issue #1 yet.

I would say GIN-GR is more along the same lines as Mech Major/Sunlight on Snow. She's definitely more than just an object, in my opinion.nycjadie wrote:I know it's stupid, but GIN-GR is one of my favorite characters. It's not really a character. Pretty sure this is referencing Ryp as the interior artist on Wrath of the Eternal Warrior for it's next arc.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Bl00dsh0t wrote:Ryp is awesome.Brapbrap wrote:juan jose ryp is fantastic please dont say these thingswwise03 wrote:My prediction is that A+A is going to be an unmitigated disaster. Yep you're right, my mistake I thought it was referencing A&A. I like Ryp art's so I'm fine with him having at arc on Eternal Warrior. Not overly happy with Gill continuing on XO..

Re: April 2016 Solicitations
Given that everyone will be onto Divinity after the success of Divinity 1, do you think there variants will be at a premium? Will the prices hold or will supply outweigh demand this time? Any guesses on print run? I'm guessing circa 25k for issue 1!agent_graves wrote:Yea, I'm not playing around this time, all variants are coming home, day 1...Joshua wrote:1 of everything. Re: April 2016 Solicitations
The variants will definitely be at a premium, at most shops. I did pick up a #4 1:10 & 1:20 for cover price the day that issue came out, but I also seen it priced for $10 & $20 at other shops. I do agree that Divinity will be more in demand this time around, and the numbers on #1 should double, I agree with your 25k assessment, so the 1:40 or higher variant won't be as scarce, this time around, but it definitely won't be going for cover price.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Given that everyone will be onto Divinity after the success of Divinity 1, do you think there variants will be at a premium?
