Re: Ninjak #5 Discussion
Getting back into the Valiant universe, and the first thing I do is blitz through these Ninjak issues. Very good stuff overall. I like how the new Weaponeer functions, Ninjak's a badass as always, Roku is a cool antagonist with her razorhair, and Kannon proved surprisingly interesting. Admittedly the Japanese elements in #4 seemed a bit forced with the sudden onis, but I was wondering if those were actually real or if they were just some kind of hallucination. Roku's name being short for Rokurokubi also kinda doesn't make sense, but that might get further elaborated on. Colin's childhood self was surprisingly vicious and resourceful, and The Lost Files was a nice if tragic tale.
As for Roku being Angelina, we'll have to wait and see. Personally I'm not a fan of these soap-opera-style revelations, but if it can be done well I won't mind.

Anyone heard about a 'printing error' with the Ninjak 5 1:10? My shop advises me my copy wasn't sent out due to this reason but I haven't heard that anywhere else?

Re: Ninjak #5 Discussion
Any idea what those little red spheres are? They were present during Ninjak's confrontation with Kannon and Roku and again when Roku met up with the other Seven guy at the end.
The scenes with Colin and his parents has me a little confused. While it's a decent showing of his deviousness at an early age, the dialogue doesn't make sense. First off, if you have a SECRET room, then why tell your son about the SECRET room in the first place? Both of his parent's dialogue would indicate that they believe Colin knows where the SECRET room is located, since his dad flies into a rage after hearing Colin's lie and his mother berates him for breaking the rules (Don't play in the SECRET room?)
Yet Colin's lie is an attempt to discover where, in fact, the SECRET room actually is. So why have the rules about a room that Colin doesn't even know where it's at?
Otherwise, another good issue, enjoying how these storylines, past and present, are slowly merging together.
