I don't care if the title is just a different colour. I get the tradition of Golds for valiant, but they're just boring for me.
It would appear that the number of gold XOs on the market continues to grow every day. I wonder how long it takes for the book to devalue?

Completed sales on eBay have dropped about 50% in the past week or two, so I guess it's starting now? :?

When X-O #1 came out, I only bought one copy of the cover that I liked, but since then have picked up both of the subsequent #1s. I'd probably continue to do that if Valiant limits the regular-priced variants to #1 issues (or special issues) to have a complete collection (I'm not interested in the pricier variants unless I get them at a really good price), but won't both if it's going to be a regular thing, because what I care most about is the story. I did pick up 2 copies of A&A #1 2nd print, but that was only because I got it today for cover price and I see that there's already a demand growing for the book. (My LCS still has a dozen copies at cover.) I learned my lesson in the early 90s, when I was young and stupid, about considering comics an investment. If I'm going to gamble, it's going to be in small-cap stocks, or at a casino.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

I buy 2-3 of each depending on the condition of the stock my LCS has, I also get 1 of each variant (usually through the Paradise deals) sometimes I buy 2 of the 1:20 variants depending on if I get them in the right condition for the right price.

I have almost a complete VEI collection, the only books I am missing are the Harby QR, the X-O QR, and the A & A 1:100 - I plan on getting these, just been buying up some graded books lately.

I am not doing the variants at this time and I don't plan on going back to get everything in it's variant form either, instead I've opted to pick up two issues of each book. I keep one mint in it's bag and board and the other one I keep in a stack next to my reading chair and those are the ones I flip through and read over and over again. It's been a nice system for Valiant and the first time I've used this method with my collecting/reading, I only plan on doing this for Valiant since it would be way too expensive to do this with the amount of DC and Dynamite I purchase every month.

That's a great idea, really. I've got my doubles in a box and I really need to break em out. My wife is gonna hate the "clutter" but it would be cool to flip through em whenever I've got 10 minutes.
