I've never been on Facebook, but I can see the need for it.

If I had any kind of business, I would for sure have one.

I use Facebook. I'm anti-social, but I like keeping in touch with friends. Facebook allows me to keep in touch with people, on my terms, without having to interact with them. Perfect for me.

Heath makes an excellent point. Personal interaction only encourages whippersnappers to loiter on your lawn.

I was on Facebook until a couple of weeks ago.

I googled "delete my facebook account", found a link to do it (not "deactivate"... but actually "delete")... and now it's done.

I don't miss it.

I don't play games on Facebook. And I had every one that I do see.

I'd have figured on their earliest title being XO...

I guess one could argue Mario...
:hm:

Not in my book.

In my book, they have just done the hardcovers.
Possible correction: XO ----> Harbinger?

As a teacher, I've found it invaluable.

I can send out updates on a teacher page, etc.

As an adult-type person, I'm cautious about everything, and keep most things secure, but I can communicate with former students, too (after they graduate from college).

I LOVE talking with all of the people I'd ignore at Target.

Greg,
I've been mulling over doing something very similar.
Had always heard is was nearly impossible to remove Facebook.

It is impossible. It may appear deleted, but your information, who you are linked to and how you're linked to them (and who they are linked to) remain in their database. Facebook is the latest government tool to track you, your relationships, your habits, opinions, etc. They don't have to spy on you anymore - you're freely giving them all the information about you.

I dip in and out of Facebook from time to time. Sometimes I go a couple of weeks without doing anything, sometimes I get involved in a few different conversations at once. It does get weird sometimes, though. Not all of my friends are my friends, you know?

Exactly - I don't yell out this stuff on the street, why would I put it on the Net for anyone to see? (I guess I am just a private person)

It works for dogs, cats and other animals, so why not the human variety?

I don't have my glasses on but it doesn't look plugged to me.

Are you looking at the gas tube sleeve which is under the barrel?
