Wildstorm?

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

I am not 100% sure about this, but I think Dan Didio went to Cyberstrike's house, kicked his dog or cat, peed in all his cereal boxes and then spray painted pro-Bush graffitti on any flat surface that could hold paint. And then he wrote the screenplay to Glitter, that Mariah Carey movie.

I haven't figured out how some people can hate him so viciously yet. I can understand the Joey Q hate but Didio hasn't been as publicly visible as far as I can tell.
He raped and destroyed the DCU and then *SQUEE* on the copse killed my love for the DCU that is the main reason I don't like him.

That he has no clue about history and continuity. A perfect example of this: watch Transformers: Beast Wars and Transformers: Beast Machines he told the writers of Beast Machines not to watch Beast Wars (and the orginal Transformers cartoon show and comic books) even though it was a direct sequel, follow-up, to both of previous series because he believed "none of the previous stuff matters".

At DCE he fired great writers like Peter David, Chuck Dixon, and oh yeah...Jim Shooter.
Wow.

Then again, the news does follow his MO: clean house. :?

Now if he's into throwing the baby out with the bathwater or house cleaning like Homer Simpson, that's where the problem lies.
True, but of the 3 writers he mentioned, Shooter's work on Legion deserved to get him fired. I think DiDio's biggest problems are not believing in continuity and actively doing what he can to avoid it wherever possible...and having next to no taste or talent whatsover, making him unqualified to hold his position. That said, some of the "Silver Age" stuff has been good but I still believe that DC wasn't broke. It just needed adjusting, not a nearly complete reboot.
I've said this before: Shooter is NOT a great writer. He's a good writer, but he's a far better plotter, and editor than he is writing dialogue. From the reviews I read most people thought his work on Legion of Super-Heroes was better than Mark Waid's run (who wrote the series before him) and better than Geoff Johns who wrote The 3 Legions series after him. I think a lot of it was Jim Shooter's legend and working with editors who couldn't hold his jock strap.

IMHO Jim Shooter was hired basically as a glorified fill in writer to get the series up to #50, on a series that no one really wanted to write so that Johns could set up his plans to reboot the series again.
Johns? Reboots? Nah, that would never happen...

So guys after the mishmash above that is nothing to do with Wildstorm being a DU or not?
Who is going to be bold enough to start a new checklist?
I say that because this must officially be a DU now for me, what about you?

There are plans to incorporate it into DCU Proper after a brief hiatus -- so will it still be called a DU or for lack of better term Blended Universe?

I love all the ideas and such we come up with for events like this, but i guess regardless of what DC do, Wildstorm itself is no more in terms of publishing. Incorporate them, do mini series still sure, but DC logo and so on. I think if comics were twice what they are Dc would try again.

WS is dead, shame i actually had alot of time for logo design wise :)

That's what DC said about the Red Circle. That's what they will say when they cancel Thunder Agents. That is what Marvel said about New Universal. That is what they will say about the CrossGen reboot.

Side note - did anyone else see Ruse #2 solicited in the back of Deadpool? That was hilarious.

I think some universes don't mix very well. I don't think the DCU needs the Red Circle, Milestone, and Wildstorm characters to a comic book universe that already has plenty of under-used characters and teams as it is.
