I think it is a good price "guide". Most of the pre-unis are now over priced. But I think the end run books and uber rare were under priced or are priced just right.

This is a bad economy to do a set price guide, unless you know you are going to keep updating it.

My analysis of the Valiant market is that 98% of the sales are down. The biggest drop (from my stand point) is pre-unity. It you bought 10 Magnus #2s (which guide @ $7) for say $3 and were hoping to sell for $6 or even $5 to make your profit... you are in trouble.

But the uber rare will still sell.

On ebay There were 2 lots I was looking at a bit ago (a few weeks):
Armorines vol 2 #1-4 sold for $76.49 shipped.
Shadowman vol 3 #s: 2, 3, 4, & 6 sold for $92.49

And of course it is the Arm #4 and SM #6 that drove those sales.

The thing is, when VEI start to put out books, I think we will see a spike in prices.

Naw, no Rai #0's. Now, I would certainly LOVE to have a copy some day, BUT...there are a few early issues that I have the trades of and i'm okay with not having the real books. Unless y'all think the first prints are better? The trades that I have (instead of the individual issues) are:

Rai
Harbinger: Children of the Eighth Day
Shadowman
X-O Manowar
Solar: Alpha & Omega

Even though you have Solar: Alpha & Omega, you still need Solar 1-10. A&O reprints only the inserts of 1-10 . . .

I would say that you need to have Magnus 1-8 and Solar 1-10 in comic book form. They just feel so good. The coupons and cards, the thicker paper of the A&O inserts.

Gotta have em.

Actually, those are the two titles that I do have the earlier runs for (sorry for not mentioning that).

I do not have the coupons for the Magnus books, BUT...I did finally get my Solar 1-10, laid 'em all out with the huge panel displayed. And you are correct Elveen...it felt SOOOOO awesome!

And you can't beat the early stories of both titles either. Just perfect comic book nostalgia!!!!!!

WOW, supa-man! You really dig Rai #0, eh?

Y'know, I originally wondered why folks would have "hoard books," but i've been finding myself going back to my H.A.R.D.Corps #1 and looking at it, and I recently bought a #1 Gold from Elveen. I'm thinking I might start hoarding H.A.R.D.Corps #1, cuz I dig Jim Lee, I like the cover, the issue is neat...

A much more affordable hoard book than others. Good call, as long as it makes you happy!

I agree it is much cheaper to hoard more common books. I hoarded SM #8 (still have a grip load) EW #6 and #7 (love the story, love the cover).

My favorite hoard book was X-O #5. I use to have 35 of 36. But I am down to a hand full.

Jonesy, if you find a hard corps #1 in a cheap bin scoop it up, and before you know it...... hoard.

Back when I had a hoard, it was Solar # 5. That cover is just stunning work.
