How does it look outside of the bag?

These chromium covers usually grade out well. It's a book that I would definitely get graded for selling. If it comes back with a low grade, it's probably going to turn out that you could've sold it for more raw, but I'd get the assurance of what you are selling anyway on something like this.

I'd be very interested to know what this book will end up bringing. Good luck to you, sir.

I'll be honest, I've not taken it out of the bag. I talked this over with a more current collector friend and I could run into some trouble because well, I'm 100% certain it's been in the same bag and board for close to 15 years. He told me you're supposed to change 'em every three years or so because the plastic can degrade the comic.

Thing is, if I'm going to be mailing it in to be graded in the next few days, it's not really worth it at this point to take it out and put it in a new bag/board.

And yes, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this comes out as the lowest graded quality Bloodshot #0 on record. I mean its gone through both extreme ends of the spectrum on temperature and on moisture in the air. Even still, I think it looks like its in real nice condition and will let the impartial third party assess its status.

Primarily because I think not getting it graded is just going to make most buyers think scam. I'm keeping low expectations on this, but the market scarcity means the graded quality on this is less important than on a title with tens of thousands of copies in circulation (where high quality is a rarity as opposed to raw supply).

Sorry. I get a little long winded sometimes.

A little help from those who've submitted stuff to CGC:

I looked at CGC member dealers in Indiana, and there's none all that close to me (of the two in Indianapolis, one didn't answer the phone and the other hasn't replied to my email). Should I just use an "online CGC member dealer" like Mile High Comics (http://www.cgccomics.com/index_cobrand. ... filiate=MH)? Fill out their forms, print out a few invoices, and then package and ship this thing off? Is that the recommended procedure?

And because of the 'max value' of this book should I use the Express option at $85 (http://www.cgccomics.com/services/services_and_fees.asp)? Or am I reading those options wrong?

Thanks to anyone who can impart a little wisdom my way.

Yes, you can ship it yourself using one of those online vendors. Make sure you insure it and pack well.

Express would definitely be the fastest way to get it back and it's value is within the limits for Express. I was able to get a copy in using "Modern", but I sent it with other books as well. If I was only sending that one book and wanted it back fast with no hassle, I'd go with Express.

Blah. I took 400yrs advice and sent my Bloodshot #0 off three weeks ago.

It was over ten days ago that they charged my credit card for grading. Does their "five business days" usually take this long?

Tricky thing is in my credit card charge from 6/26 I see a "94" which could be nothing, could be it's grade, or could be the year it came out (1994).

Considering I need money and to sign a new lease I probably would've sold it raw if I'd known it was going to take them this long. Blah.

Their turn around time can be much longer than that for express, depends how busy they are. I had a friend's express grading take nearly 2 months.

For that issue, you should have paid for the "walkthru" option.

Call them and find out what the hold up is. When they ship the books back to you, you'll have to sign for the package. If by some chance they already sent it and you weren't home when the mailman dropped it off, that little slip could've gotten lost.

Now that's ridiculous. I hope he didn't pay the express rate for that. I'd *SQUEE* up a fit.

Lovely. It's like if you want it to rain, you just need to start carrying an umbrella around. I used the CGC web contact form yesterday before whining about them on here.

And now I woke up this morning to an email with a registration number for USPS tracking.

So hopefully, there will be an auction for me to plug shamelessly soon...

Holy fricking schnikes.

I went and snagged it from the post office this morning. And it came back CGC graded 9.8.

I know.

Gonna take one of my friends advice and put it up for a 30 day auction so it may give some collectors something to think about heading into Comic-Con.

And something to splurge on for anyone with money afterwards.

Auction probably going up later tonight. Right now I gotta get to work. Just have that 'won the lottery, gotta tell someone' feeling.
