Do we all need to go back in time to the end of 2008 to be able to get the new books? Building a time machine is probably going to take a while.Chiclo wrote:They are real busy getting new comics on the shelf by year's end.greg wrote:It's not very high on their priority list, I suppose.

Nah. I just hope they make another big announcement like the Harby movie one so that maybe prices will go up a little bit and I can starting dumping stuff.jedimarley wrote:Do I sense dissension among the ranks???Chiclo wrote:They are real busy getting new comics on the shelf by year's end.greg wrote:It's not very high on their priority list, I suppose.
I really should've dumped after that Harby announcement. We're probably not going to see another jump like that again.

Print a million copies of each issue of brand new comics and watch the money roll in. Then I'd roll around in the cash after snorting a Tony Montana sized mountain.
Or with this economy, sit tight and plan things out well (provided they have good people) and try and sell the options on whatever they can to have some sort of cash inflow until the economy is better suited for a full launch generating more interest in the selling of the properties for movies, games, etc.
At this particular point in time, I can't see how launching a comic line would be smart or viable.

Yeah. Talk about bad timing for Dino and his crew.400yrs wrote:Print a million copies of each issue of brand new comics and watch the money roll in. Then I'd roll around in the cash after snorting a Tony Montana sized mountain.

Really? At the end of Acclaim? Glad they didn't hire anyone that was involved with Acclaim at that time. Wait????xodacia81 wrote:Yep and I seem to recall similar issues at the end of ACCLAIMjedimarley wrote:Hire people that know what they are doing????greg wrote:If you guys could do anything as controllers of the Valiant properties, what would it be?

Haha, Co-Sign.greg wrote:Geez, you guys are brutal.
My answer would have been: "Hire Jim Shooter and let him do whatever he wants."
And Walter Black is With VEI and he's from Acclaim correct?

Sell publishing rights to Dark Horse or Dynamite Entertainment
Demand is there, it's a matter of getting something done.
I like the sound of working with Dark Horse for publishing as well.

I agree with the first sentence, but I'm not certain that demand is there already.hulk181man wrote:greg wrote:If you guys could do anything as controllers of the Valiant properties, what would it be?

I don't know. I think the stories under Shooter's hand would be fine, but it would REALLY have to be some knock your socks off work to succeed in the current comic market. Even stories with good quality like pre-unity stuff would probably have a hard time succeeding in this market.Elveen wrote:That is my answer.greg wrote:Geez, you guys are brutal.

I think for most guys, myself included, Tom Petty said it best....

They are my favourite of the indy publishers right now.
