That's not in DC continuity though. The only time I've seen J'onn hurt by someone psionically is when their telepathy is more powerful than his.superman-prime wrote:He also can be hurt by empathic powers (from justice league episode 1 for reference for all the noobs) I think they dont use him alot because 2 supermen are way too many.

Well yeah, that's Despero and he's one of the most powerful telepaths in the DCU. But having said that, J'onn was able to beat even him by creating an illusion in Despero's mind so eleborate that Despero thought it was real, essentially defeating Despero. It was something J'onn could only do once so if they faced each other again, J'onn would likely lose a psionic battle of the minds.superman-prime wrote:It was a example that everyone can relate 2, it has happened in dc jla issues before by the big pink dude

Is this for real? DC's not really announcing the characters who will die in Final Crisis before the miniseries actually comes out are they?Cyberstrike wrote:http://www.comicmix.com/news/2008/01/23 ... for-death/
That would be...unusual to say the least.

They made Kingdom Come one of the 52 alternate Earths (Earth 22 according to the list). Of course, this is after years of teasing that it was the future but still...billypilgrim wrote:I don't think it will happen. DC is really convoluting things so that Kingdom Come will be in continuity. Bruce Wayne is a huge part of that. They just did in Aquaman/Dweller in the Depths and rebooted the Manhunter along with killing a Flash.

But JLA 0 implied Dark Knight was the future. LOLDrift wrote:They have also made an Earth for the Charlton and Fawcett heroes but versions of them still exist in the main universe.
Just because there is an Earth where the events in Kingdom Come have already happened doesn't mean that they can't in another.
I'm actually glad that I don't get the DCU anymore other than Legion. As much as I enjoyed Kingdom Come, there's nothing worse than some of the follow up stuff to it, writers trying to intergrat it into the present books, etc. And I love how the solicitations say Thy Kingdom Come in JSA is the sequel to Kingdom Come. They already had a sequel a few years ago, it was called The Kingdom and it was REALLY bad.

Not sure if I've met too many people who only collect one or the other on a regular basis (unless they just don't collect many comics at all). Hell, DC completely lost me on the DCU with Countdown to IC, IC and One Year later but I still get All Star Batman (a non DCU book) and Legion (cause it's Shooter). Even in the 90's when I was mostly buying DC and couldn't get into Marvel, I'd still have one or two Marvel titles (GI Joe, Smith's Daredevil, early Thunderbolts). Both companies put out so many diverse comics that it's hard to not have at least one catch your eye.superman-prime wrote:Dc stuff has been great from IC on but, its a lot to read because it is all tied together so its a bit expensive to keep up. most read dc or marvel but, not both
