Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

As for a "swap meet", do the people that don't have tables (ie. customers) bring items and offer to "swap" them for the vendor's items?
:?
They call them "flea markets" out this way, never been to one called a "swap meet".

Now I've read a few Crossgen books before I sent them off to some dudes here, but I have never bought any for myself.

I am a bit concerned that I might be starting a "new" area of collecting. I don't have my VH1 reading runs done yet (I'm close, like 10 books), and I know I will venture on to VH2 and VH3. Defiant and Broadway seem interesting, but this Crossgen.... :hm: :hm: :hm: :hm: :hm:

I feel like I might be getting the bug.

Just thought this was the place to share.

so I read the books over the weekend.

WOW! I loved them. If anyone has not read these books, I highly recommend them.

Super, super story, great art. I know that Waid left the series after #13, I hope the books are still good after he left.

I really, really liked the books.

Are the other Crossgen books as good?

After Waid left the book, it was never the same. It was an okay read, but nothing like when Waid was writing it.

YES! Negation is the cream of the crop, IMO. Great concept, interesting characters, superb writing and awesome artwork. You'll love it!
I would also recommend Scion and Sojourn. Those were two other great CG books.

In case anyone is interested, recall that Checker Publishing is collecting several Crossgen series' into TPB form, in a license agreement with Walt Disney Co.

Among others, a new Sojourn collection is expected soon, and in addition to the following excerpt, more information can be found at the link below:

"The Crossgen material is obviously extremely high quality. When Disney picked them up, they picked up the whole pile of stuff and didn't know what do to with it. They did what their specialty was – taking a handful of properties and started the process formulating movies and their own repacked publishing that fit within their specialties.

They were open to hear what we had to say, and we give them a good presentation and samples of our books such as Alien Legion. They saw our production standards and felt comfortable that we'd do right by the individual properties, and from there on we had a partnership.

NRAMA: A total of 9 collected editions are part of the agreement: two from Sojourn, Negation and Scion; and single volumes of The Way of the Rat, Sigil and The Path. What led you to doing these titles – these later volumes?"

As for myself...I'd love to read a respectful close to Arwyn's tale! And try this Negation that I've been hearing so much about... :P
