I will be updating this list with a sticky when I get back next week. I will working out of state again from Monday to Friday which is kind of a bummer being away from the family and all but one consolation is that I am working in Hawaii for the next week.
I will get to work on this when I get back.

I remember clearly where I was was I learned of the events. It doesn't seem like almost 6 years ago which is a sign of the impact this event had. 'Event' doesn't do justice to what happened, but I still struggle to find the right words to put something like this in context.Knightt wrote:I remember that cover now.
9-11 still gets me in the gut. I am glad it was my last combat deployment.
It wasn't vengeance. It wasn't payback. It was Punishment.
When I hear mealy-mouthed politicians in my country talking of distancing ourselves from the USA I think how crass and stupid it is to do so, because I think each nation has found the strength of a good ally in the other over many years.

Some numbers
from Dwayne McDuffie regarding Milestone publication levels:
Also which was the best-selling book:
from Dwayne McDuffie regarding Milestone publication levels:
Taken from Dawyne McDuffie's own message board.I think our lowest-selling issue was an issue of Kobalt that did 12,500 copies. Our best-selling book was north of 600,000. Average, between 35 and 80 thousand.
Also which was the best-selling book:
Hardware #1.
Over the course of the line it was Icon, however. It became our top-seller around issue #3, and never looked back.

Good golly, those are Valiant numbers during their heyday.leonmallett wrote:Some numbers

I think the 600,000 is a freak number, the 30-80,000 would have been below VALIANT's numbers, pretty much.Lightning Strike wrote:Good golly, those are Valiant numbers during their heyday.leonmallett wrote:Some numbers

Hmmm, I thought all the direct edition ones were the poly-bagged ones, didn't recall there being any that weren't poly-bagged. If there was a non bagged direct edition for Static, then there must have been unbagged direct edition copies for the other ones that were bagged (Hardware, Icon, and Blood Syndicate)leonmallett wrote:Re Static #1:

Further investigation needed methinks. The source from McDuffie's site references Comic Collector Live as stating ther are the 3 versions. As you say, the same may hold true for the other bagged number ones. This set grwos by the day it seems, especially considering I thought I had most of it...Brother J wrote:Hmmm, I thought all the direct edition ones were the poly-bagged ones, didn't recall there being any that weren't poly-bagged. Yeah, the 600,000 number is the one I was refering to. The other numbers are more in line with today's books.leonmallett wrote:I think the 600,000 is a freak number, the 30-80,000 would have been below VALIANT's numbers, pretty much.Lightning Strike wrote:Good golly, those are Valiant numbers during their heyday.leonmallett wrote:Some numbers

The Milestone era was roughly speaking in line with the VH1 era. I don't know where 30-80,000 placed in relative terms then. I think it unlikley that such numbers would automatically be replicated, so comparing then to now is hard.Lightning Strike wrote:Yeah, the 600,000 number is the one I was refering to. I don't know what other new lines like Ultraverese were doing at the time.
