In the Quantum and Woody area I vote for either goat's milk or goat cheese.

I suggest a Custom Figures Line..
and then do an animated series...
these can be the prototypes...

VALIANT Entertainment needs to produce product outside the comics that will bring VALIANT to the public's conciousness.
They need something like Batmania from the 60's, so which VALIANT character would better lend itself for that?
I say X-O Manowar is the most likely candidate.
Out of the eight original titles (Magnus, Solar, Rai, X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Shadowman, Eternal Warrior, and Archer & Armstrong) it's one that VE would completely own (unlike Magnus and Solar), lend itself to attract kids ages 7-14 (imagine an X-O helmet, and gauntlets for kids like those they did for Hulk, Thing, and Superman when those movies came out), and wouldn't be perceived as being too intense for young children (like Shadowman, and Eternal Warrior might be).
So using X-O Manowar as the template, what kind of marketting strategy akin to Batmania could VE built?
"Good Skin lunch boxes, they keep your sandwiches safe from spiders!" would be a given.

Nerf games sounds like a great idea!ianalexavier wrote:That sounds neat.. what about X-O coats.. Your real own X-O armor.. looks like the armor on the outside.
Of course action figures..
What about Nerf wrist launcher things.. shoot at Spider alien stand ups in the back yard
As for action figures, are those still considered relevant today, or have they been replaced by stuff like what I mentioned that they did for the Hulk, F4, and Superman Returns movies (the gauntlets, capes, etc, etc)?
(I'm sure they must have also done stuff like that for the X-Men movies, specifically Wolverine's claws.)
Do kids still play with action figures or do they prefer to become the heroes themselves using those toys?
Damn, guess towels wrapped around the neck don't cut it anymore, lol.
Would kids rather have an X-O Manowar armor of their own (by buying the helmet, the gauntlets, the ring, and other stuff separaretly), or would they be content with playing with 6 inch plastic figures?
I'm old school - mid 80's old school - and far as I'm concerned it's not a real toyline unless it has action figures, vehicles, and playsets.
Heh, in light of all those mid 80's afternoon specials about teen pregnancy odds are that most parents today were kids back then, so what would they be more comfortable buying, the action figures or the complex gadgets?

I think that XO has the best chance for crossover......
this might work for young kids....
of course you need an XO ring....
but how about this......
a shoulder pad-type-of-thingy..... wrist bands.... a belt and then ankle rings (?????)... here is the idea.....
from the wrist bands you would be able to pull up "XO-sleeves" and connect them to the shoulder pads.... then pull down from the shoulder pads to the belt... from the belt to the ankle....
it would be a real cheesy XO suit.... but kids would dig it.... they'd have a XO ring.... "call the XO armor" quickly pull down / pull up the "material"....
instant XO armor.....
the material could be that synthetic material they make those fold-able-kids play houses out of....
it would look cheesy.... but it could be a huge hit with the kids......

Let's look at it from a Cowboys and Indians perspective.
If XO's our Cowboy, who are his Indians?
Would kids want to dress like Spider-Aliens?

I don't think so....

More reason to have the new comics pick up 10 years later, to give Aric a new foe that's relatable to children and easily adaptable to play pretend while retaining some sense of sophistication for the older comics readers.Elveen wrote:I don't think so....

In this regard Cowboys and Indians is a perfect parallel.
While far as kids back in the 50's and 60's when those were poular were concerned cowboys and indians were simplistic, the older viewers/readers of TV shows and comics/books knew better, they understood the sophistications better.

.. but having XO start over 10 years later would mix up all that continuity that was set in motion.. ah well
regarding XO ring.. Heck I have one.. I cant remmeber where I ordered it from.. its a bit big for my finger.. and, beleiveit or not it doesnt work!! Im so angry!!! No armor comes with it
.. but it is a neat ring.. I wonder where I put it..
it came in a neat case with the valiant logo on it and everything.. anyone else see one of these before.. not sure how many are out there.. atleast a few..

I was talking about how XO 68 came out about 10 years ago

And that ring was one of many ancillary products that came out during the original VALIANT's time. They also did a Ninjak ring.
I ordered an XO one from someone on ebay a few years ago but he refused to send it because I'm in Mexico, urgh.

Im tired so Im not thinking correctly.. plus IM watching the Tigers game..
LOL i dont consider VH2 or 3.. or whatever cannon so Im talking about the first go around with these characters with Valiant..
Wasnt RAI 0 the big one that set up continuity.. I guess it all depends on how it all restarted.. Im all for figuring out a way to start from directly after Unity..
..even if they wanted to keep some of the already written plots that came after Unity.. some of it was good.
