Depends on two things, what kind of car you have (so I can figure out what inputs you have) and what music playing device(s) do you have?Phantom.. wrote:How to you download it to listen in your car? Do you have a USB stick on your radio system in the car?
I have a 1997 Toyota, so there's no fancy USB port or headphone style auxiliary jack like some newer cars. However I do have a tape deck, and cassette adapters are like $10 at Radio Shack. So I stick my adapter in my cassette deck and the cable into my iPhone and presto! Podcasts in my car.
Tell me what you've got and I'll help you think through it.
I'm addicted to OTV podcasts on road trips. I don't even know those guys but you start to feel like you're sitting around with a few friends that share your passion for Valiant. It's cool.

That being said, if you have a problem with a tape deck adapter not working correctly, let me know.Carson wrote:Depends on two things, what kind of car you have (so I can figure out what inputs you have) and what music playing device(s) do you have?Phantom.. wrote:How to you download it to listen in your car? I have a none working cd player. Radio works
Would be cool to listen to, I may check my radio at work - see if it has a USB port. It's quite new.

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months
I wikied it. Still no idea.
Then I google imaged it, ??? Saw a iPod under 'mp3" images.
I found a iPod on a beach in France, 2006? Is that to old? I have listened to the contents, ac dc amoungst other tunes, so it did work - 5 ? Years ago.
If you can download podcasts to iPods ? I will look up on the Internet how to do it.
Oherwise when I go to work tomorrow, I will check the radio, see if it has a USB port.

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months
Have you ever burned audio to a CD?
If so, you can burn a podcast to a CD... whether the CD player can play MP3 or not.
If your CD player can play MP3 format files, you can fit a lot of podcasts on a single audio CD.
If you've got a computer in the room where you want to listen to a podcast, just click on the podcast and turn up the speakers.
Forget all the CD player / MP3 / USB stuff.

I can copy files to cd.greg wrote:Have you ever burned audio to a CD?

So I am sure if I can copy the podcast to my desktop I can transfer it to a cd.

But I have no cd player at work. I work on site, so got a digital radio - less effected by dust and cd players get trashed anyway ( form experience they die quick) So only the radio will work anyway. I am sure their must be a port on it somewhere for a USB.
If their is no USB, I might buy a another cheap cd player. As if I do not listen at work, I will never get a chance to listen at all. Plus I am 89 episodes behind with OTV.
Is OTV good? Overall. I heard Chico? Or a similar board members name used. Is it just guys hanging out or more informative. Will their be OTV TV?

Your best bet is probably to listen to at least part of OTV 89 while you're on a computer and decide if it's something you want to go to the trouble of burning to CD and getting a player.

Wouldn't want to waste anyone time. I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't sure it was something I would bother with.
I know that's not what you are implying - but yes maybe listening more, to save all the hastle of downloads and plugs and such.
Plus I would rather write This than clean.

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months
Listen... you have an MP3 player if you have an ipod. You put the podcast on the ipod and connect the ipod to the radio with what is in layman's terms a double-ended headphone cable or you can get an fm transmitter for like $20. That will wokr on any FM radio, but there will be some static almost no matter what.

Only if there's an "audio in" spot on the radio. Most of the ones I've ever seen only have "audio out".KXXX wrote:connect the ipod to the radio with what is in layman's terms a double-ended headphone cable

The audio in spot might also just say AUX for auxiliary input.greg wrote:Only if there's an "audio in" spot on the radio. Most of the ones I've ever seen only have "audio out".KXXX wrote:connect the ipod to the radio with what is in layman's terms a double-ended headphone cable

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months
Back on topic?
Forbidden planet have no shelf copies of any valiant books~ why, I asked? As orders have increased and shelf copies going straight to pull box.
I wonder how long before shelf copies are available or if they will even bother.
Have not had a chance to speak to the manager again. Will mention it. Would also like a folow up comment, to see if we can bury this thread or give it a positive thread title.
