And so we can clarify, did anyone order from Amazon? Because if they did and they haven't recieved the book yet, I am guessing Diamond isn't to blame, right? Using the established logic flow from previous.
First of all, really good point. I didn't even think about the fact that Diamond doesn't effect Amazon's distribution... or at least it didn't for Harbinger, so I assume it doesn't now. So if that's true, then I guess Diamond probably isn't the one to blame.

As for "choice of distributor"... is there really one? I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, but I've read before that it's pretty much essential to go through Diamond if you want to distribute in the comic world.
*cough cough*

so NOBODY here ordered off of Amazon? Etos, bud, you and I are going to have to start our own group or something. Everybody in here is just *SQUEE* and nobodies sleuthing, dern it.

I earned my sleuthing merit badge on Saturday so you guys are gonna have to take it from here. I didn't order online because I planned to buy from a retailer.

Nope.

If it's disappearing, it's probably the sig bug that the board has been experiencing for quite awhile now.

I'm not really jones-ing that hard for it...sure it's got a new story, but the bulk of the material is already something I own.

So besides the new 5 minute read, and some new pretty colors, I don't see the rush to get one.

I mean, I'm definitely gonna buy one and sooner instead of later, but today or the 29 makes no difference to me.

The main problem I'm starting to have with this is that it's making VEI look unstable and unreliable. It's not a good image to have and could wind up hurting them when the relaunch finally hits and I don't want to see this company fail again. Something just doesn't seem right with the whole delay now. Just because they were a little late getting it to Diamond because of a printing error it gets delayed by over a month? And why no release to Amazon or anyone else ordering directly from VEI? Honestly, the lateness didn't bother me as much when I thought it was just Diamond's fault.

As for why I'm personally "jonesing" for the new HC, that is just because it's one of the few things that I get REALLY excited about in comics. I mean, I like getting my Spider-man and Star Wars and whatever, but I really look forward to any opportunity I get to own a new Valiant. It's one of the only things that I rush home and read right then and there. For the past several weeks I get disappointed every time I go to my LCS and on top of that there isn't even any word anymore from the company as to when the holdup will be resolved.

it's been so many years coming that a few weeks late is no biggie. Besides it got held back because VIE has been having a problem at the print and wanted it corrected & done right this time. Hopefully it will reflect in the final product. The new shooter material makes it worth it for me. :thumb:

dino wrote:Guys, here is the update. The book is done. The manufacturer printed a few pages incorrectly (the registration on these pages was off causing the pages to print slightly blurred). We had the manufacturer correct this, so there was a slight delay from their end. The book is now corrected, in hand, and looking great. There was a good chance it would make it out to stores today but the manufacturer narrowly missed this week's shipment deadline. They will be in stores shortly. Can't wait for you guys to see the new story and Jim's interview!

I totally agree with you that it would be no biggie, but it just wreaks now of something else being up with it. Like seen in Jedi's quote, if it just barely missed the deadline to ship then why is it taking well over a month to make it to stores? I just don't want this sort of thing to become the norm for Valiant because it could ruin the company's reputation. I hate that I've moved to this position, but I just don't want to see this as a sign of things to come. Especially with no further word on the progress and cause of more delays.

by this point they need Shooter. He knew that punctuality was important for a startup. DC, Marvel, and a few of the others can afford delays (and sadly most of the time they know it) but I don't know if a Valiant reboot could survive it.

let's just hope for the best guys. Obviously there is something going on otherwise Dino would have posted on here by now. I think Dino and crew have been great for VALIANT and I applaud all the effort they've put forth to bringing our characters back in the way that we all love them.

It can be either really good news or really bad news but I'm quite certain that its a good sign, With Shooter Available and whispers of Valiant attempting to relaunch sooner than expected they could really be knee deep in business affairs as well as creative direction and physical work underway.
