Road Rash was a motorcycle racing game with combat. While you're racing through city streets trying to avoid pedestrians, traffic, and the cops, you're also physically battling the other riders. You can pull along beside them and punch them, or pick up weapons such as baseball bats, nunchuks, maces, etc. There was no real strategy - it was just fighting on a motorcycle. But it was a lot of fun.
Another game I spent hours upon hours playing that I can't seem to find anywhere is Rocket Jockey. It had a 30's/40's era aviator theme to it with the bomber jackets and aviator goggles and such. Your character actually rode a rocket. Take a rocket engine, add some canards (front wings) and stabilizers to it with crude stick controls. Then straddle it and take off. Different model rockets handled differently and they also had grappling cables. You could use the cables to grab a surface to help you turn tighter, or grab your opponent off of his rocket, or grab his rocket and pull off his stabilizers, etc. There was also "Rocket Ball" where you played a soccer type game on these rockets. You used the grappling cables to grab the balls and hurl them into the nets. I only had a demo version of the game because I could never find the full version anywhere. But I played that demo for hundreds (probably thousands) of hours. It was pretty simple, but very unique and loads of fun.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I'm within spitting distance of 100% on Star Wars Lego II. They make you play through each level repeatedly a few too many times but it's still fun. Be sure to play through the stages with "Disguises" on. It looks strange on some characters but it's down right hillarious on some of the vehicles. And don't wait to pull the characters from the old game in. The game will only lets each player choose one per level in freeplay and that's it but it's a blast to play with them.
I just got Taito Legends for the X-Box a couple weeks back. I hadn't heard of it before but I saw it in the store and was shocked that it had Rastan, Zoo Keeper and Gladiator on it (my favorite arcade games when I was a kid!). I got it for cheap (it's $10 new at FYE) and I'm jazzed about it.
So far I just tried out the games and played repeated quick bouts of Space Invaders (classic!), Elevator Action (addictive) and Jungle Hunt on it. Now that I've got more time, I'm going to get into those child favorite games as well as Bubble Bobble, Operation Wolf, Thunderfox, and Space Gun. Lots of cool and interesting games on there. I'd definately recommend the collection.

Just leveling/getting items right now. Nothing big. On normal diffuculty and may try to kill Diablo soon. Or not. Depending on how I feel.
On this character and another I'm straight legit.I have a duping one that I hardly use.

They are not really the same games.... Marvel: Nemesis is basically a 'fight game' with 'some' free roaming but basically a fight game.depluto wrote:The X-Men Legends games are better, if you see them cheap.Heath wrote:Is Marvel: Nemesis any good? I keep seeing it on the used games rack and keep thinking about getting it.
X-Men Legends is kind of a dungeon crawl combined with a RPG element. Both are fun but I tell ya, I thought Marvel: Nemesis sure is HARD at times. BOTH very enjoyable though.
Xbox Punisher game is VERY fun but not for the faint of heart. Some pretty gory yet incredibly funny 'interrorgations'.

I've been playing a few of the BK games, but mostly that Dreamcast classic, Shenmue.
Oh, and if you've got a 360, this months backwards-compatibility update finally allows Shenmue II to be played on it! So if you've got an interest in Shenmue, grab II for the Xbox, it goes for like five bucks at GameStop.

Played some of the Taito Legends games this weekend. One word of warning to avoid any intentionally thrown controllers breaking TV screens: Rastan (which has 6 levels) and Plump Pop (which has 10 levels) have unlimited continues UNTIL you reach the final levels of those games. If you lose all your lives on the last level it's game over. Also I got to the third level of Gladiator (one of the best underrated games ever) and continuing at that point sent me back to the BEGINNING of the second stage! The good news is that I had such a good time playing these games it didn't matter if I beat them or not and you do get better (and further) each time you play (but, dear God, do you have bragging rights if you can beat any of those games!).
I doubt most of the other games on there have the same "quirks" on continuing. Thunderfox didn't. I'll find out about the rest later.

I picked up the racing game and the bumpercar game from BK.... maybe I should try to be in a better mood when playing these games as they did nothing for me. The mini bike racing game was ok but very difficult to control (for me). Maybe they will get better with time.X-O Dudeowar wrote:I've been playing a few of the BK games, but mostly that Dreamcast classic, Shenmue.

I broke out Ultimate Spider-Man again and am glad that I bought it (cheap) but the numerous 'racing games' inside the game get rather tedious (for me at least) as I just want to 'get to the action'/mission.
I have been trying to get on my PC to play Marvel Ultimate Alliance but my wife has been sort of hogging up PC time as she is playing some freeware game that I picked up for her. Kind of like a jazzed up Space Invaders. Now I am happy that my wife can enjoy something like this (and free to boot) but dammit, MUA is calling to me something fierce !!!

So that gets me NO advantage these days... I still beat my meat and my wife kicks my *SQUEE* at OLD computer games.
