Most are not difficult to find except for #871 & #880. Scored a #872 and #880 for 50% off the cover price today.
873 as well.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
Of course she has been with her comic fans and cartoon watchers but not everyone is completely aware that people are ready to pay big bucks for her appearances. This whole discussion started with someone being shocked at the price of Suicide Squad #6. The dealer who sold me a Batman Adventures #12 for cover price was unaware that it was a sought after comic. He had it in the kid's section with no clue that it is a potentially $50 comic.Elveen wrote:KO2003 wrote:It looks like every title that Harley Quinn appears in is turning to gold. An entire run of Batman adventures is going for $249 on ebay. Gotham City Sirens is heating up also. Like I said, Harley Quinn is the new Deadpool.maraxusofkeld wrote:I remember a few years ago when the Batman Animated #12 was not worth anything. I gave it to someone for free when they bought a copy of Mad Love from me.
The only thing I would disagree with is the "is" in your sentence. She has already been, and will continue to be. Like I said, she is more than a comic book character.
Movie mentions attract new interest whether its for speculative reasons or genuine interest in a character. So you are incorrect if you are saying "everyone" is aware of how popular a character Harley Quinn happens to be.

It's true, one of my aunts has no idea who Harley Quinn is. I mean, she has Alzheimers but she probably wouldn't know anyway.

I've always held that Thanos' first app was in IM 55, but there're some fans that contend otherwise (I think I had this debate here once actually). Probably because the book's cheaper and they've hoarded copies of it or something. Who knows.BruceReville wrote:Publication wise: Iron Man 55 (02/73) - Captain Marvel 25 (03/73) Thanos War Pt 1 even though Thanos doesn't appear until Captain Marvel 26.IMJ wrote:This reminds me of the crazy Thanos debate between Iron Man 55 and Captain Marvel.. lol!KO2003 wrote:According to CGC Batman: Mad Love is the issue with her origin out of DC continuity. Batman Adventure 12 is her first appearance out of DC continuity.maraxusofkeld wrote:I thought her 1st app, was that one shot Batman: Mad Love?
However continuity wise Thanos appears in Avenegers 118 which chronologically takes place before Iron man 55 so![]()

She has had her own ongoing book in 2001.Chiclo wrote:
Elveen and I had a discussion about this after SDCC a couple of years ago. For a character without her own book, there were a lot of women running around San Diego dressed up as Harley Quinn. She is now and has been popular for quite some time.

I had two Suicide Squad #6's in my hand at a comic shop last week but the owner told me he's not interested in wholesaling to ebay sellers and that I'm no longer welcome there!

Not sure, but you could always invest your profits in the Valiant economy.MarrowMan wrote:lol what ridiculous price is it going for now? lolStarBrand wrote:Put it on the Bay, unless you're keeping it!MarrowMan wrote:I came across a Suicide Squad #6 (1st Print) for $2.99 today at the LCS, so I grabbed it.any good?

Probably an allergic reaction otherwise referred to as "a$$hole". It's a very sad condition actually that not only affects the patient negatively but almost anyone else that they come into contact with. Does not seem to be contagious by air, contact, or fluid transfer, but prolonged exposure can lead to brief similar outbursts by those in proximity to the patient. Prognosis is poor. Recommended treatment is boot in a$$ and/or blunt head trauma but results have been mixed and more research is needed.Elveen wrote:Doorman wrote:I had two Suicide Squad #6's in my hand at a comic shop last week but the owner told me he's not interested in wholesaling to ebay sellers and that I'm no longer welcome there!

What? This guy is clearly insane. There used to be a law that if a business refused your money you then had the right to walk out of there with whatever your purchase would be. A business may have the right to ask you to leave-within guidelines-but they do not have the right to refuse cash. Please tell me it was cash.Doorman wrote:I had two Suicide Squad #6's in my hand at a comic shop last week but the owner told me he's not interested in wholesaling to ebay sellers and that I'm no longer welcome there!

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
I left peacefully. I'm not going to beg the guy to sell me his product. And, I'm certainly not going to go through the dance of "this issue is really for my collection - please can I buy it?". If he doesn't want my business, that's fine with me. I don't buy my new issues from him anyway (he doesn't offer a discount to subscribers - not even 10% [let alone the huge discount of mailordercomics]).400yrs wrote:Doorman wrote:I had two Suicide Squad #6's in my hand at a comic shop last week but the owner told me he's not interested in wholesaling to ebay sellers and that I'm no longer welcome there!

The way I see it is, if you buy it for the asking price, you can do whatever you want with it.
The one thing that might get tricky is buying multiple copies. I can see store owners wanting there regular customers a chance to get the book.

I'm tempted to suggest a mass boycott. What's the name of the store and where is it, if you don't mind my asking?Doorman wrote:I left peacefully. I'm not going to beg the guy to sell me his product. If that *SQUEE* happened to me I'd tell them to make sure they let me know when the going out of business sale is happening, so I can skip that too.
I agree........
Completely, except. Let say a book comes out and gets real hot, real quick. I can see someone that limits the # of copies (I might not agree, but I can see the perspective. I know a few shops that limited the # of Justice League #1). But I've bought multiple copies of books before, and I'm sure I'll do it again.
One time, I had a guy mention to me something about getting the book (I was buying) and putting it on ebay. My answer was..... do you want my money or not.
If I owned a LCS I would want my shelves as empty as possible so I could just re-stock some more.
Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
That reminds me of the store here where I pulled out several Valiants the guy had but he wouldn't sell them because he didn't know what he should charge. I made an offer, but since a few were signed (not VVSS) he thought they should go on eBay and let an auction decide. What the hell?!! I spent another 20 minutes talking to him and he still refused. So I gave up and went to pay for the books he WOULD sell, and he only takes cash. I just left. I've never had a business make it so hard to give them money.
