Thanks for the preview link.
Art looks solid. Higher rez and coloring will help a lot, but remember Shooter always puts a much higher premium on storytelling and consistency in artists than on showy and spectacular visuals.
Magnus looks to be in capable hands with veteran Bill Reinhold. A sample from his Deviant art page:

Here's Wes Dzoiba's page with color samples:

His color work on the Aliens/Predator and Star Wars books rock.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he does for the sci-fi world of Magnus.

I'm glad they didn't put the white "stamp here" block on the Dark Horse cover this year. Some of the other FCBD books on the site seem to be carrying it.
I bought a hard to find Bongo Comics FCBD book on ebay and the seller put an address label in that "white block" area that was a mission to take off. There was gummy residue still left over after removing it. *grumble*

totally different than what is coming from the new DH four, right?Ryan wrote:Nope not Magnus, just a sci-fi character by the guy who's drawing Magnus. Looks good to me!dave wrote:Who is that? That's not Magnus, is it? I am referring to the guy in the uniform next to the big lizard near the bottom of page 7...

I've received numerous inquiries about the FCBD Solar art. Obviously, people are as excited as I am to see these classic characters return!
As I've received several offers, I feel what is most fair to myself and to the buyers is to offer the entire 9 pages as a package. I will probably be offering them for $500 per page for oversized pencils and inks before the book comes out. I feel this is very fair considering the potentially historic relaunch through Dark Horse. After the book is released, the price will go up.

He can ask whatever he wants but he won't get $500/pageJay Tomio wrote:Yeah, that's the exact message I got.
Going in I thought $1200-$1500 would books be aggressive and 2k would be on the verge of cuckoo cocoa puffs. I honestly thought the email was a typo. While I realize you only need one crazy fan (and there are several as can be seen by purchases of books like Bloodshot Platinum) to validate a set price, I think the buyer would definitely have to be a horder because there is no way in hell you could ever break the set up and make money back at that price-per-page average.
Either that, or a group of folks go in together and divvy up the pages.
I love my Magnus and Solar, but there's a lot sweeter *SQUEE* to be had in OA for $4.5k - you can get a sweet OG cover for that.
Al that said, I firmly believe the artist (or any seller) has the right to ask for whatever he wants for his merchandise.
