eBay doesn't care. They just don't. We'll report this, and the auctions will go on, uninterrupted.

If eBay doesn't play by their own rules, why should anyone else?
Well I'll be. I was wrong. Score one for the eBay folks.

I think they wake up when it's several items. If it was just one item, they may have let it go, but it was more like 7 I think.

This isn't TOO bad, but I did get a chuckle out of the 'rational' for the writing on the cover....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 76195&rd=1

Well, except that they HAD pence copies, and no one's going to spend 20 pence for a comic they can buy an actual pence copy of at 8p (the then current pence price. ;) )

And what's up with people listing items for a 'fraction' of their value, and the start bid is 75% of guide? Well...heh...75/100 IS a fraction. :)

Dude, check out that SPIDERMAN! It's a killer deal at $260+ in 8.5.

Apparently CGC's upped their rates. According to deathblowpipe 34 fb 100% positive, "The $69 dollar oppening bid only covers the cost of grading." :o

Obvious scams, lets just hope it's obvious to everyone. :hope:

Edit: Upon further review, he apparently smokes a fair amount of "something".

Hard sell, Hard Sell, HARD SELLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lord.

'You, TOO, can make money in the comics market!'

Yes, because it's easy as pie to get a book, slab it, and watch it jump 2-10 times guide!

And yes, paying GUIDE is a GOOD thing....uh huh. Forget those 50-75% OFF guide results on eBay...those aren't REAL!

If this were all true....please....tell me why they're still doing it, instead of being rich and enjoying life....?

The bigger question for me in this auction is what the heck's up with that back cover? That looks to be from a Marvel Milestone Edition because it says Facsimilie Advertisement at the bottom.

This guy's just a flat out liar. No one at CGC told him that...here's why:

http://www.cgccomics.com/poplookup/grad ... ++++++++++

Not only is he lying, but there are 68 copies graded higher than 8.5, including a 9.8....

Automatic deduction? What is this, gymnastics?

This is getting depressing....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 43221&rd=1

That's a roughly $200-$250 lot there ($100 for the Fn+ #181, $50 for the VG- GSX #1, $40 for the #96 and $20 each for the 180, 182)...

The BIN is 3x or MORE actual market....

And.....not only that, but the BIN is $700...BUT...if bidding goes OVER $850 (try and figure THAT one out) he'll GENEROUSLY throw in a $10 comic!

WOOHOOO!!!!!!

<holds finger shakily over BIN button>

These Hulk #181 auctions are depressing...people asking WAY over guide for non NM, non CGC'd books....wow.

Buncha greedy *SQUEE*.

Yeah, $1,000 starting bid for a mystery assortment of 200 books that range in quality. If anyone bids on that, they deserve what they get.

At least the books have SOME value. I would give him a couple hundred for the lot.

I saw an Amazing Spidey #1 that was either 1.0 or 1.8 that was currently getting $375 and it still had a couple of days left to go. These prices are just getting plans stupid.

Spidey #1 in 1.0 is still a $200-$300 book. X-men #94....? I'd give ya $5. If that.

Market is out of control. I almost got an Amazing Spidey #1 in 4.0 for $1,000 back in 2001 for $1,000 but couldn't raise the money quite fast enough. Looks like I was a freaking market genius three years later. 400% increase? I find it funny that the people who biaotch the most about how the 90's "screwing them over" are the exact same ones today pimping out books with ridiculous high reserves that just came out last week.

Stop the insanity please! :!:
