And this is the description for the Spider-Man 1 (still in bag, starting bid only $300!):

1990 cover price $1.75 M Still in plastic package - never opened. I have 2 copies. This offer is for 1 copy only.

Image

Just couldn't help taking a picture of both, I guess.

Only $300? Such a deal!

I wonder if anyone knows that you can take a regular ol' UPC spidey and HEAT SEAL IT BACK INTO A BAG?

By the by....the true "green" bagged variant has purple webs....the "regular" green has silverish-gray webs.

And now you know!

YIKES -- I BOUGHT A BOOK FROM VIKES!!

That could be his (former) customers' motto or something.

Unfortunately, I just got sucked into his Magnus 0 w/o card for the $14.95 opening bid (no one outbid me, wonder why? ). Anyway, let's have a contest to see how close it is to the advertised NM/M -- that's a 9.8 in CGC vernacular.

I'll go first: NM- 9.2.

:hope:

Cause that was the very first thing I called him, lo! these many months ago when I called Jedi out for his S&H. ;)

Yes, you all can blame me for Jedi being on the boards...if not for me and my big nouth, he wouldna come. :)

Not an auction, of course, but it fits....this was on the Discussion Boards lately, and it reveals SUCH an AMAZING and DEEP disconnect with the people at eBay and average human beings:

"As you know, you are the first line of moderation of the forums. You use the Report Link to alert the moderation team to possible violations, so that posts can be reviewed. From time to time, trends begin in these violations, and we step up our action in accordance with your reports.

Posts that are not "courteous and respectful" will be removed when reported, and further action taken as appropriate.

This is nothing new - that expectation has been in place for many years. We had truly hoped the Community could work this part out without need for our intervention. But you've let us know the "expectation" alone is not enough for this time, and thus, we'll be backing it up with firmer enforcement. So, we'll be raising the bar and setting a higher expectation for polite behavior in reviewing the posts you report."

So utterly clueless....not to mention Soccer Mom....about basic human interaction. Does this NOT sound like your mother and the typical guilt trip...? "You really ought to know better, honestly. Tsk tsk."

"We really thought you all would act like adults and we wouldn't need to police you."

Well....DUH.

Why do you think we have POLICE to BEGIN WITH?

All those CHILDREN committing crimes....?

Such a basic, BASIC misunderstanding of human nature. Sad.

This auction made me laugh.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6607121223

Someone who doesn't know what the word "HUGE" really means....

But his/her RESPONSE.....THAT made me fall on the floor laughing:

"Listen when your done being a jerk off let me know this way we can both move on to bigger and better things than picking apart the words I choose to put in my titles.

Sorry if I mislead you in anyway but huge can refer to any issue in the set , it one day may be a huge success, it may be a huge Batman fans dream come true, it could be huge to someone who can only afford 1 comic book, it can be huge in what ever way you want it to be but if you dont think its huge just keep your mouth shut and move on . The internet is really big now a days so there are plenty of other places to get your comics, and maybe some of those other places wont abuse there idea of the word huge. But in the meantime there is really no need to be a jerkoff. "

Isn't that the funniest thing you've seen in days?

"It may be huge to someone who can only afford 1 comic book"....THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING LOOKING FOR COMICS ON EBAY????

Man, that's just classic.

Isn't $88 a good price for Harb #1 in 9.6?
