Apparently he wants people to bid on this book but not anyone who wants to actually COLLECT a book that didn't come from the trash. If your one of THOSE people don't bid! Then he goes on to justify how this comic was actually read and he doesn't like people who apparently store thier comics away safely. Oh, and it will cost you $20. Just imagine the guy from the Simpsons doing a voice over when you read it and you're be laughing like I was.
Best deal ever.

"That's because although I sell a lot of comics on ebay, I don't pretend to know anything about grading -- one person's very fine is another person's good-, "
This is bullsh!t. That's like saying 'one person's dark blue is another person's flaming red.' It's baloney, and this seller knows it, but because he/she has had a consciencectomy, it doesn't bother him.
And yeah...he has no problem trying to pass off VG/F copies of these books for $5 each PLUS S&H.

Since this didn't mention "Shadowman" on the title, I think a LOT of you might have missed this (or you consider it way out of your price range, like me):

I generally steer clear of the foreign auctions, plus it went for way more than I would have bid anyway. Good eye though! The Spider wrote:Since this didn't mention "Shadowman" on the title, I think a LOT of you might have missed this (or you consider it way out of your price range, like me):

I wouldn't have minded paying for overseas auctions, but considering that this weighs 5 KG (what is that, 11 pounds?) it'd probably cost a lot to ship. And yeah, the fact that it went for close to $200 kept me away from it, too.Daniel Jackson wrote:I generally steer clear of the foreign auctions, plus it went for way more than I would have bid anyway. 1. Do you ever have anything BESIDES sarcasm to reply to me with?
2. Do you know ANY other emoticons BESIDES this one --->

Because, frankly, I like to discuss comics, but if you're just going to be sarcastic with EVERYTHING I say....what's the point?
Thanks.

I've found that selling full runs on ebay can yield premium final bid prices. I think it's the all-at-once factor and the dabbler, i.e., not really a collector of that specific item taking a chance because there's no more work involved in collecting the run. And on ebay, any comic with cross-over appeal will be seen by non-comic collectors and there's no telling what they may pay, or what their relatives will sometimes pay because they know soandso likes blank.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Back to the show....

The answer to question one,
It is not sarcasm, but good natured fun.
You know , ribbing.
The answer to question two is,
When Greg offers a emoticon with the middle finger, well... you know the answer.
Oh, and by the way Zeph,
Stop beleving everything you type about your self.....
You're not as great as you think you are.
Dork.

Sarcasm, good natured fun...the difference would be...?jedimarley wrote:Well Zeph,ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: Jedi. Two questions:

The answer to question one,

It's not good natured....not when it's constant, with every post. You ever heard of 'the line'?
Before you get to 'the line', things are fine, ha ha, ok, great, jokes at people's expense. When you cross 'the line', it stops being funny, and starts looking like someone's got a problem with someone else. You've crossed 'the line.'
Have I done something to offend thee, oh great Jedimarley? Have I personally said or done something to you by which you feel the need to flip me off (if you could) every chance you get? There's an ignore function for that. The answer to question two is,
When Greg offers a emoticon with the middle finger, well... you know the answer.
I'm sorry, but what field did this gem come out of? Left? Deep left? Outside-the-park left?Oh, and by the way Zeph,
Stop beleving everything you type about your self.....
And just how great is that? Apparently, you know, or you wouldn't have typed that. I'm curious, because you apparently think I'm farrrr greater than I do, hence the above sentence. You're not as great as you think you are.
Where do people come up with these lines? Envy? Anger? I don't get it.
"You think you're hot stuff, but you're NOT, so THERE!"
Huh? And you got this 'ZWH thinks ZWH is great' from....where? Please, point me to the post where I said 'ZWH thinks he's great!!!'
Obviously, something or somethingS that I've said have angered you, Jedi, or you wouldn't have typed that 'you're not as great as you think you are' line...even though I've never really said or done anything to you personally....but I don't really know what. Care to clue me in?
Do you think it's just your job to knock me down a peg or two? It's not, and will just cause more problems on the board. I have a simple rule: you leave me alone, and I'll leave you alone. Fair enough?
Tell ya what...if you really have a problem with me, there's a brand new ignore function. Just use it. Seriously. No drama, no name calling, no insulting. Just ignore me and be done with it.Dork.
If you don't....I'd appreciate lightening up on the 'good natured ribbing.'
Is that too much to ask?
Seriously, people, if you have a problem with me, can't stand my guts...just ignore me, please. That solves so many problems.
If I'm THAT bad a guy that everyone eventually ignores me, problem solved.

Yeah, I've seen this for several years now on eBay, and it always boggled my mind, because in the PAST...it used to be 'well, I only want the keys in the run, but I'll take the whole thing if I HAVE to, but only at a DEEEEEPLY discounted price.'mrwoogieman wrote:I've found that selling full runs on ebay can yield premium final bid prices. BIZARRE.
Now...it seems as if the opposite is true...you can get keys for next to nothing, while full runs net you outrageous prices. Huh.
the difference seems to be that people read the runs now instead of collecting the keys. Its much better for the industry.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Yeah, I've seen this for several years now on eBay, and it always boggled my mind, because in the PAST...it used to be 'well, I only want the keys in the run, but I'll take the whole thing if I HAVE to, but only at a DEEEEEPLY discounted price.'mrwoogieman wrote:I've found that selling full runs on ebay can yield premium final bid prices. Bronze and up, get 'em all. They look pretty lined up in the boxes.
Wellllllllll....

I dunno about post-Unity.

But I do admit, looking at, say, my Bats collection and seeing a full, uninterupted run from 200-up....with dupes of several of the keys....
That does get awful fun.

I'm not up too date on non-valiant prices (since i don't collect anything else), but did this guy toss in a turok#1 in a lot of 'rare and hard to find' comics?

That's what I was thinking. Apparently this guy doesn't realize that "rare and hard to find" in the early 90's means nothing now. Judging by his pictures, the only books that MIGHT be worth something are those early Spawns, and I'm not even sure about them.
