Me too! He did the cover to EW#4 correct? It was one of my favorite covers.
I still need to pick Man of God up. I've been slacking in that department.

I remember back in the day I loved Yvel's work.

Looks like the same style, but I don't see YVEL anywhere on that cover. That is one hell of a cover though!
You are correct it was Denys Cowan. Great cover! Yvel did several other EW covers.

Re: ShadowMan!
FWIW I started picking this up with issue #1 because of the artist, and so far I have been really impressed. The art looks great (no big surprise, but you never know) and so far the story has been interesting. I have it on my pull list and have no plans of stopping.Carson wrote:xodacia81 wrote:If you are a fan of Yvel, our very own Craig and Stu are currently working with him on the new book, Man of God. The backup story with Bob Hall is obviously very short, but its pretty cool seeing his work in print again.

X-O's archnemesis... brick walls! It just turns out the vine and spider-aliens build walls that really annoy Aric.MarrowMan wrote:Or a brick wall.greg wrote:Fixed.Daniel Jackson wrote:Can't have a legit Valiant character without having him crash through a glass window at some point.....

Re: ShadowMan!
I'm now officially more pumped for Shadowman #1 than I was for the launch of Valiant with X-O #1 last May and honestly a lot of it has to do with the characters look and his potential "cool" factor. So far I've absolutely loved all 4 of the Valiant #1's and I'm absolutely hooked on X-O and Harbinger and I have no reason to think that Shadowman #1 won't blow the hinges off of the building that Valiant has built, I'm so excited to see how this book turns out.

No, I think it's just that he has a problem negotiating doorknobs, the gloves being so padded and all.ian_house wrote:X-O's archnemesis... brick walls! It just turns out the vine and spider-aliens build walls that really annoy Aric.

Re: ShadowMan!
OK I am in the minority on this....I am more of a fan of the Michael Leroi than Jack Boniface! I welcomed the change because I thought Jack looked like a hot mess. I have no idea why Leroi gets so much venom is spit in his direction. The only thing I can chalk it up to is "change". I have no problem with change as long as its tastefully done. Sure you might not like the writer for a particular stretch but every book has its flat moments. Before I get trashed I am talking about the actual character NOT stories! I prefer the VH1 stories better we can agree on that, even still there was still some good elements in the Ennis run. But for once it would be nice to see the mantle passed along to another person and not the same damn guy for 60 F'in years! I understand we, me included get attached to a certain character but change is needed from time to time. Things get stale if you don't rock the boat from time to time.

Re: ShadowMan!
I didn't hate what happened to Jack (gotta run now-gotta die in 1999) I just hate HOW it happened, the passing of the ShadowMan mantle from VH1-Vh2-etc. Coulda been better. I don't hate Mike LeRoi, I actually thought he was cool (I played that damn ShadowMan game with him for like 100 hours)
