In case you can't read it . .I pasted his posts below:Elveen wrote:Do I have to be logged in or be a member to read this? The link did not work.schi0249 wrote:Since people asked, here is the link: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/forum2/ ... ms=valiant
This started the topic:
The thread was titled: Marvel and DC Zombies. Pet Peeve Rant
This was DF1's response:quote:Originally posted by slym2none
I thought you meant the "Zombies" type comic-book. Hell, I don't even buy new comics, and am tired of seeing and hearing about the Zombie-version of whoever, whatever... they even made it over to my beloved VALIANT characters in a great fan-based project. I say "great project" because of what it stood for and what any proceeds were being donated to, but honestly..... "zombies" ain't my thing.
Here's a pic of the cover of the VALIANT zombies book -

quote from another user:
That's a book made by fans? For what cause? Is that at a con? Did you get a copy?
another one:Yes, more begging for charity money so they'll have high opinions of themselves. Don't forget to mention any error copies. If you guys are going to hand make your collectibles, be sure to put some error versions out too.
For the record, my niece was a poster child for cystic fibrosis. You can donate to the charity without setting yourself up as some saint for buying a homemade comic.

If you want to donate in exchange for non-comic collectibles, here is a link:

Basically you can feel good about yourself without grandstanding and trying to make your fellow board members feel guilty or selfish.

He is a small, small person . . . wearing blinders . . .Not bitter, just unimpressed.
I get tired of people passing off garbage as something collectible.
Both the guy who started this thread and the guy responding are Valiant comic fans.
This Valiant "Zombies" project has been giving the Valiant fans goose bumps for months. It's a way for them to make something in their garage, and then go charge somebody $40 for it. Maybe you just now found out about it!? That means you aren't good enough and you have to join their little hive, maffia, clique, club or whatever word you want to use. When you want to be just like them, they'll let you have this junk and spread the message on their behalf on messageboards everywhere.
Rest assured that I've been on vacation for the week. When I show up for work on Monday, everyone there will tell me how much they missed me and say "it just isn't the same without you". Am I cocky and arrogant? Yes. So while I'm not going out of my way to win brownie points with you, or Slym, or Julian --I get enough brownie points in a day that I don't even want anymore. That's not bitter. That's called flushing the toilet when you see someone taking a c-r-a-p.
Slym probably creamed all over himself when he saw the setup in the title. And believe me, it was a setup because the thread had nothing to do with zombies.

I think that he has himself so wrapped up in his dementia that he can't extricate himself from it...Daniel Jackson wrote:It's sad to see someone remain so warped and spiteful after all these years. That has my interest too. I thought the Harby HC was nice but there is so much going on in Harbinger that capturing the "feel" of the whole series on a cover is challenging.rictor wrote:I am really excited to see the Chen cover.
Now, with X-O, things should be simpler. Let's see some alien corpses. Lots of them. I'd love a cover like the old Conan ones with X-O standing on top of a big ol' pile of dead aliens.

How'saboutTHAT!At the end of the Saturday panel VEI announced that the next hardcover was going to be X-O Manowar and that non other than Bob Layton would be writing the new story. After the panel Aric Dacia business cards were handed out. The reverse side of the card promotes the new hard cover.
