And to think I traded all of my cool CGW variant/holofoil etc etc comics away a while back.... (sobs)

But I found a few since then and have the whole TPB collection. THOSE books are VERY difficult to keep finger prints off from. Never thought I would 'polish' a book.

I am VERY glad to see some action in the CGW list thread... this is one of my most favorite DUs out there. I found it very entertaining... oddly enough, I never thought much of Ghost and that was one of the major sellers if I am not mistaken ?

Pretty mich the # 1 seller. In fact, for several brief periods, it was one of Dark Horse's top 10 books.

When CGW came out i was intrested in the weekly books cos Lee Weeks did the first page and there was something about his style i really liked.

That aside they looked pretty average against say the Vh1 stuff.
I picked up bits here and there and some appealed more than others, but now its one of my fave DU sets to complete and im doing ok at it.
Of course my top book is the PLatimum CGW guide from Advance comics which im proud to say i discovered and as of yet no not of another copy.

:P

A big thanks to xodacia81 for doing the reading list!! That helps a lot! I have been working on this DU and making pretty good progress with it and strongly considering getting it bound in reading order.

Thanks guys. Even before I got into Valiant, I was into CGW, if only by a few months. At the time, it was just easier to find CGW books, since the early Valiant was still selling like hotcakes in late 93, early 94. I must have read through this DU at least half a dozen times as a set, with other issues and series probably another dozen. To Knightt, I can see where you might have not gotten on with Ghost when she first appeared. But, that title surprised a LOT of us and became THE book from the line, with one of the best character studies in modern superhero books. In terms of the way it handled the "life" of its central character, I would say that Eric Luke's work on Ghost is comparable to the great run Bob Hall had on Shadowman. To Geo...I don't know if I could ever bring myself to bind them, but if you do, you have to post some pics. Those would look pretty sweet. Oh, and to Draco...I wish I could have been the lucky guy to find that book. Have you posted any pics from the interior, yet? I'd love to see the contents :thumb:

If these characters were half as popular as Vh1 it would be snapped up.
That we know of so little copies is good, but i wont be getting too carried away just yet.

Still $30 from $100

Maybe the vf copy for $15 would be a good pick up for someone here?

cheers for the info though.

I wasn't sure where else to place this but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a full list of writers and artists for this line? By this, I mean a list which covers every issue of every book, giving the name of the writer, artist/s(including inks and cover), colorist, letterer, design, ect? If so, how would you guys want this arranged? If, say, there were 3 issues in a row with the same team, then would you want 3 entries or a single entry? As an abbreviated example:

X # 13-15: Steven Grant, writer/Javier Saltares, art & cover/(then the rest of the crew)

If there is interest in having an easily accessible list, then I will put it together. If so, would it best be done in THIS thread and then transported somewhere or combined with the list-and if so, then maybe it will be on an issue by issue basis-or would it best be done as its own thread? I think this could be good. It would serve a similar function to what the info on the cover gallery for Valiant/Acclaim does and, of course, if we EVER get our own "cover gallery" going for any of these DU's, then there would be ready information to place with the covers for THIS universe. Let me know if there's interest.

Interested :hm: Either here or on it's own doesn't matter to me. I definitely would be interested in a cover gallery very much also :thumb:

For those who might not have noticed, I have created a "talent" list. It's in this forum, but because of all the stickies, is waaaaaay down at the bottom of the first page right now.

I will move your thread inside the CGW sticky thread so that we can merge the two one day soon. Unless you would like it where it is at right now.

Maybe put it up near it? Inside it could work, too, I suppose. Whatever you think is best. I finally finished the work. I think the "issue, "Reading" and "Talent" lists could probably all work as their own thread OR together. In fact, putting them together might be a nice "flow chart" for the DU. ARGH, my brain is hurting after all that work, lol.

Well, I can move it near it but there is no way to bind them so that they stay together. I am working on clearing up the first page anyways, kinda like a thread within a thread, if possible. We have a lot of work in here already and I need to tidy it up. The talent list is excellent BTW, I eagerly await your next DU undertaking....

Thanks much. As for the thread, yeah, I think making it a sticky and putting it near the other CGW thread might give it a chance of staying near the top. As for my next undertaking, I have finished and posted a Defiant list, although I am missing a few books. I know I have neither the Plasm or Dark Dominion 0 issues listed and I don't have either the Birth or Origin issues listed. Everything else, yep. If anyone has the info for those 4 books, pass it along and I'll add it. Right now, I am now working on Broadway, which will likely be my last list of this sort for a good while, as these 3 constitute the only complete DU's I have this info on. I am still debating adding titles.
