I'd like those questions answered as well.Heath wrote:I'd still like to know what happened. Why was the reunion canceled? Will Valiant still have a presence at the show? Is anybody from the board still going anyway? Inquiring minds want to know!

Since the wife & I started planning this so long ago, we have decided we will still go. I'm going to be at the Penn, so I'll be at the show too. I'd still like to meet up with anybody that's going.

...& if it's help with the Valiant portion of the show that's needed then I'd be happy to volunteer some time.

Is this the con you guys are talking about?svair wrote:Hey Guys...
I decided to wait in answering everyone's questions till after the San Diego VALIANT panel news....I didn't want to take any of the excitement away from that...
One of the main reasons I decided to cnxl the VALIANT/Acclaim re-union in NY is the following..
The dates were originally set as being Nov 16-18...these were the dates set as of last year....all my plans and arrangements, including yours were set on these dates.
As many of you know...when it comes to projects and these events, I want to have everything done way,way in advance...I hate to rush and scramble for last minute details...
This being said....a few weeks ago I rcvd a phone call from the promoters that the dates were possibly being changed to sometime in December...for whatever reasons....
As no dates could be confirmed, I did not want anyone planning to fly in or making hotel reservations, to pay any cancellation fees or penalties, I made the decision and notified the promoters I would need to cancel the show if this was the case.
Just recently, I heard back from the promoters.
It was decided that the dates would remain the same as originally intended. Due to last years success with the VALIANT show they were excited about doing it again and wanted to promote it "balls to the wall"...
I thanked them for mentioning we did a great job last year...but I politely declined hosting the show for this year. Too much has been undone for me to try and re-do in time.
The've asked us to re-think our decison, and they have now given us until the end of the month to re-consider.
I do appreciate everyone's emails and phone calls, supporting the show and willing to help out in any way possible.

I am probably 50/50 unless John decides to uncancel, then I'll definately be there. Unfortunatley (not really) with my oldest going to college this year I have to make some financial choices, since I have 3 more kids behind him I'd better figure it out pretty quick or I'm gonna be missing my NY and SD trips next year.
