wow, as someone who was forced to use those darn special drawing pencils i thought i was alone in preferring a regular, plain ol' pencil.
my mother used to work at liberty life and she'd bring home boxes of 200 of their pencils...those were the best pencils i've ever used.
too bad i couldn't use them worth a damn! lol
but if i could, i could conquer the world with those things...lol

Hiya MAC,
I just blew through all the previous posts in this thread to check out your mojo. Very cool stuff!
Yes, Im jealous... Yes, Id love to have a piece.. Ill be saving my money for a bit and then contact you if your still doing commissions
Do you ever go into your wifes school and teach the kids some basics?
I like that Ninjak, with the blurry effect on his face.. pulls all the attention to his hand and then the ring
Im glad you moved his eye to the center of the page.. looks great!

Thanks Ian,
Yep i still do the occasional commission.
And i have donated time to several organizations that
push the arts in the public school system.
I went a class in the east village and though the kids wanted to learn
how to draw, they were mostly interested in SPIDERFMAN 3 and the story elements. 3 hours of fun. lol
I will go tomy wifes school this fall and join forces with the art department to teach a weeks worth of comic how to.
It should be fun.
I actually am debating going back to school and becoming a legit art teacher, but like with everything timing is key.

Have you tried doing any "speed type " drawings digitally? Some thing like this but more in line with comic line art.marvel1 wrote:Thanks Ian,

It looks like the pic of Ninjak's head was printed out and made fuzzy some how and the hand looks digitally cut and placed over the face.
This doesn't take away from the image though.. VERY COOL STUFF.
Great concept!
Im sure it would be difficult to actually draw something fuzzy.. not sure how to do that.. of course, i dont know how to draw my name much less a picture like that
